Illumi's pov

I hated not being told where Hisoka was taking me. It was rather annoying. When we were on the airship I went to the bar, Hisoka following behind me. I sat down at a table and Hisoka got us some drinks. I really hoped that we were going somewhere good.

Sighing, I took out my phone. There was news that someone had managed to get inside my family mansion and that they had pictures of the interior. I scoffed. They would be eaten by Mike if they went through the side entrance, and even if they managed to open at least one of the gates, the butlers would soon sort them out.

Hisoka came back with our drinks and I put my phone away, not wanting to read any more stupid claims. I caught Hisoka starring at me as I started drinking.

"What?" I said. I could literally see hearts in his eyes.

"You drink in such a sophisticated way! I'm in love with it," he said and gave me a wink.

I rolled my eyes and looked away while covering my mouth with my drink, trying not to get annoyed. I hated the effect he had on me, but at the same time, he made us feel warm. Cared for. It wasn't something I was used to after my parents killed my personal butler for being too affectionate towards me.

I finished my drink and started playing with my needles, moving them around on my jacket. Hisoka was still watching me, and I was starting to get annoyed.

"Hisoka, can you stop staring at me? I'm finding it very annoying," I said coldly.

He chuckled quietly and came to stand next to my seat. He put his head next to mine, his breath tickling my ear. "Those needles, they stick into you, don't they?" I was confused at first but nodded. He smirked and then continued. "I find that very exciting."

I glared at him and stood up, leaving the bar. Of course, he had to make perverted comments. He was so annoying. I walked over to the large window around the perimeter of the airship, looking down at the buildings below. I was wondering how long it would take to kill one person from each building when my phone started to ring. I looked at the called ID and saw Hisoka's name. I answered it, not wanting to talk to him right now.

"Illumi, please come back. This woman keeps making eye contact with me, and it's very off-putting," he said.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes at his tone of voice. "I thought you liked the attention from women. Must have been some other magic clown who said that."

I heard Hisoka take a breath and I moved my phone away from my ear slightly. "I AM NOT A CLOWN!"

"Whatever," I said. "If you really were uncomfortable, then you would find me."

I hung up the phone and looked out of the window again. I knew I was being cold again, but I couldn't help it. It was exhausting trying to keep myself together all of the time, and if we were fighting today, I would need that energy.

A few moments later, I saw Hisoka coming towards me. He had his hands in his pockets and a smirk on his face, and he was walking towards me slowly. My heart sped up slightly, and my breath caught in my throat. Did he always have this effect on me, or was it only since I started staying at his apartment? I couldn't help but notice how handsome he looked. I shook my head, trying to get rid of those thoughts.

"Illumi," he said, standing next to me. "You left me."

"Yes, I did. You were annoying. If you don't want me to leave, try to be more tolerable. And how long is it until we get there?"

"We'll be there soon, my love," Hisoka said, taking my hand.

I turned towards him and made my hand go limp in his. "Can you please tell me where we're going? I don't like surprises, they're never good."

He chuckled and started stroking my hair. "You'll see when we get there. I promise that this one is a good surprise."

I closed my eyes tightly. "My parents used to say that to me."

Hisoka gently cupped my face and made me look into his eyes. "Your parents aren't here, and I promise that I'll protect you from them. They can't hurt you when you're with me."

I was going to say something but stopped when I felt his lips on mine, and I punched him in the arm. He pulled away, laughing, and put his arm around me instead. I didn't get why he had to touch me all of the time, but it didn't do anything, so I left it there. Hisoka smiled at me, his eyes shining and his cheeks pink. He looked out of the window and smiled, picking me up. I tried to fight but soon gave up once I realized that he wouldn't let go.

"We're here," he said and carried me out of the airship.

I looked around and saw that we were in a city. Tall buildings were surrounding us, and I got out of Hisoka's arms. He grabbed my wrist and lead me to one of the tallest buildings.

"Can you please tell me where we are?" I asked, getting impatient.

"Heavens Arena. The best place to fight."

We got to the arena and Hisoka checked us in. It was a big place full of people, and I could feel my anxiety beginning to spike. I stood close to Hisoka as he led me to a gym. He went to the weights, and I did some stretches next to him, looking at the other people carefully.

"What happens here exactly?" I asked him as I went up on my forearms, arching my back and doing the splits in the air. "I know my parents sent Killua here when he was younger, but they didn't tell me much about it."

"We fight for money. The better you fight, the higher up you go, and you can challenge more powerful opponents," Hisoka explained, bench pressing some heavyweights. "The key is to not show your full abilities unless you have to, otherwise people can use them against you."

I nodded my head and changed my position, arching my back on my hands and feet while twisting my torso to look at Hisoka. "What happens when you get to the top?"

"You get your own room, and have the chance to become a floor master," he said, grunting slightly.

We continued to train until we were called to fight. I was put up against some guy who looked like he would have trouble with fighting his way out of a wet paper bag. I decided to make his failure slow and painful, dragging out each blow until the referee called for me to stop. Shame. I was just getting into it.

"M-mister Zoldyk? A-advance to f-floor 150 p-please," the referee stuttered, handing me a slip of paper.

I nodded and stood back to watch Hisoka's fight. His was over in a matter of seconds, his opponent didn't stand a chance. He was also told to advance to floor 150, and he came up to me smiling, linking arms with me.

The rest of our fights were easy enough. We couldn't use weapons, and none of the opponents seemed like they could use nen, so they were easy fights. We got to the 200th floor in about two hours, and the word of our victories was soon to follow.

Hisoka went up to the desk and handed the receptionist our tickets. "Would it be possible to have one room instead of two?" He asked, a wicked smile on his face.

The receptionist looked terrified, and I scoffed. She handed us our keys and told us our room number. 345. We thanked her and made our way to our room, Hisoka's arm brushing against my side.

I opened the door to the room and looked around. It was big and had everything we would need for our stay. There was a grand piano in the corner, and I knew that I would have to play it before we left. I looked around and found a bathroom next to the bedroom. There was only one bed, but I decided to just sleep on the floor if I had to. It couldn't be more uncomfortable than being chained up.

Hisoka was sitting on the couch and I joined him. He was playing with his cards and smiling to himself. I closed my eyes and leaned back into the couch, content with how the day went.
