(quick a/n im bad with tenses so if i keep switching tense just ignore it lol)

prom night.
music blaring into my ears.
my worst enemy just metres away.
this is probably the worst night of my life.
"hey sprat" i hear a familiar voice spit. i turn my head to see evie who's walking towards me when suddenly another voice perks up.
"just piss off," floss yells. why did she stick up for me like that?
"or what?" evie laughs and turns to floss.
"you dont wanna know," floss responds and steps towards evie who rolls her eyes and leaves.
"i can stand up for myself yknow" i say.
floss laughs and shakes her head, "you're welcome."
"thanks," i eventually respond after an awkward silence. floss grabs my hands pulls me up to dance. suddenly the song changes: 'pictures of you' begins playing.
"i love this song," i say and smile.
"yknow, this should be our song," floss laughs and leans in towards me.

*bleep bleep bleep*

my alarm went off just as she was about to kiss me. it was a dream, of course it was a dream. oh fuck. did i just, did i just dream that??? i shook it off and got changed and went downstairs for breakfast. there she was, she was stunning. how did i only just realise?? i got my cereal and took it to my room like usual.
*ping*
i picked up my phone to check who it was and her name flashed up on the screen

floss: are you alright you seemed a bit all over the place this morning? :)

i couldn't bring myself to reply just yet so i went on to spotify and started playing pictures of you, the same song from the dream. midway through the song i heard a knock on my door. before i had a chance to open the door, floss let herself in.
"omg i love this song,"  she said smiling contagiously. i smiled at her and she sat next to me. we sat there in silence until the song finished.
"this song reminds me of us," i think aloud.
floss raises an eyebrow and responds, "in what way?" i shook my head as if to say it didn't matter.
"hey bec can i ask you something important? only if you dont mind?" floss asks after a few moments.
