Chapter Three

*The Next Day*

    The next morning I woke up to Thor licking my face and Tyler laughing. I opened my eyes and saw him standing in my doorway. I pushed Thor off of me then rolled over. Tyler laughed again then came over and started hitting me with one of my pillows. I groaned and pulled my blanket over me,refusing to get up. After we had gotten home yesterday we went out and saw Casey,which was quite the experience,then we went and looked at the building we wanted to buy. The outside was in good shape but the inside needed some work. By the time we had gotten home it was late and I just wanted to go to bed,but Tyler and Max wanted to stay up and watch a movie. I didn’t end up going to bed until about 2am. I just wanted to sleep now,but obviously Tyler wasn’t going to let me.
“Wake uppp!” Tyler said as he hit me a couple more times with the pillow.
“Screw offff. I’m tired.” I said sleepily.
“It’s almost noon. And we are going to Chris’s house in an hour. So get your ass up.” Tyler said,pulling the blanket off of me. I groaned again but got out of bed.
“Get out so I can change.” I said. He nodded then left,closing the door behind him.
“You’re a pain in my ass!” I called through the door.
“I try!” He called back. I could hear him laughing. That’s how Tyler and I are together. We pick on each other and swear at each other all the time. I got dressed after a minute of stretching. I put on a pair of black swim shorts,a batman tank,and grabbed a pair of  shorts and boxers to change into later. When I got downstairs Tyler and Max were all ready to go. Tyler had a 12 pack of beer on one hand and a cooler in the other.
“You ready?”
“Yeah.”
“Not brushing your hair?” Max asked.
“We are going swimming,why the hell would I brush my hair?”
“I’m just joking.” He said,putting his hands up.
“Let’s go you two.”
“Can I take the jeep over?” I asked. We have three vehicles. Max’s black car,Tyler’s black dodge,and my dark blue jeep that I haven’t driven in awhile.
“Sure. Oh,we may be going to the beach later tonight with them,have a fire and such.” Tyler explained as we walked out.
“Like old times.” Max finished.
“Okay.”
“We’ll bring out the little grill and maybe Jackson and Chris’s boards.”
“Okay. I take it we are bringing Thor?” I asked. Thor was jumping around the driveway like a drugged up rabbit.
“Yeah.”
“Okay. I’ll see you guys there.” I said,walking over to my jeep and getting in. The first thing I did was plug in my phone and start blasting my music,and I wasn’t even out of the driveway yet. Best part about this jeep,the doors and roof could come off,and they were currently off. And I also put subwoofers in here,so the bass was absolutely amazing. Before I pulled out of the driveway I saw Max and Tyler standing by ti’s truck,shaking their heads and laughing. I smiled to myself then drove off towards Chris’s house. Once I was a couple houses away from mine I turned the music up even louder and took out the sunglasses I kept in my cup holder and put them on. As I got into town I hit a red light. It was two lanes of traffic on both sides. Right as the light turned red and I stopped the song The Downfall of Us by A Day To Remember came on and in the beginning,as I’m sure most who listen to this band know,they scream. When the people in the car next to me,who had all their windows down and a kid in the backseat,heard this they weren’t too pleased. I got a couple weird looks,which made me laugh,but I didn’t turn my music down. When the light turned green the car next to me took off,probably trying to get as far away from my jeep as possible. I laughed again as I turned onto another road.
    After about 20 minutes of driving and rocking out to my music I was finally at Chris’s house. Before I even turned off my jeep Chris came outside laughing and shaking his head. Before I could respond,Tyler and Max pulled up behind me. They got out of the truck and were shaking their heads as well,but they were both hiding a smile.
“What?” I asked the three of them.
“I could hear you five houses down from here.” Chris said,still laughing.
“I just wanted you to know I was coming.” I said,grinning along with my brothers.
“Everyone on this road knows you’re hear now.” Tyler said.
“I pissed off a women on my way here. She didn't appreciate The Downfall of Us.” I said. That made Chris laugh even harder and earned me a chuckle from my brothers.
“Your dad out back already?” Tyler asked.
“Yeah,come on in.” Chris said,walking to his front door and opening it for us. Tyler,Max,Thor and I walked through Chris’s house and into his backyard. His dad was sitting at the table that he had set up back here,beer in his hand. There was a radio playing,my guess is that it was Chris’s phone plugged into his dads amazing sound system.
“Hey guys!” Jackson said when he saw us. He stood up and greeted my brothers and I with hugs and pats on the back.
“How have you been,Cam?” He asked when he got to me.
“Could be better.” I said,shrugging my shoulders. He frowned and put his hand on my shoulder.
“Chris and I are here for you if you ever just need anything. And I’m sure your brothers will always be there for you.” He said.
“We will be.” Tyler said.
“Alright,enough with the sappy stuff. Let’s go swimming!” Max said,taking off his shirt then running and jumping into the pool. Thor barked and chased after him,launching himself into the pool. Good thing Jackson let dogs in his pool because every time we come over Thor jumps in.
“I’m with Max.” Tyler said,taking off his shirt and jumping in. Chris and I laughed and shook our heads. Chris walked over to where his phone was and turned the music up then walked back over and took his shirt off.
“You coming?” He asked as he walked towards his in-ground pool.
“Yeah. Can you hand me that inner tube?” I asked him. He nodded and lifted the inner tube out of the pool and set it at my feet. I thanked him and took my shirt off then picked the inner tube up and ran towards the pool,the inner tube in front of me. I jumped and,I don’t know how,managed to stay on the inner tube.
“That is the first time I’ve ever done that.” I said. My brothers and Chris were laughing.
“Nice landing.” Chris said before he jumped in.
“So,Jack. Are we going to the beach later?” Max asked.
“If you guys want to. I wouldn’t mind going.”
“Bring the boards and the little grill?” Chris suggested.
“That was the plan,if we were going to go.”
“I think we should.” I said,splashing at Thor,who was trying to get in the inner tube with me.
“Then it’s a plan. We’ll go after we get out.” Tyler said.
“Can I ride with you?” Chris asked me.
“Sure,but you’re not driving.” I said.
“Damn it.”
“You can ride with us Jackson. We can put the boards and grill in the back of my truck.” Tyler said.
“Alright. I’ll go get a cooler and pack the drinks and some food.” He said,getting up.
“I’ll help.” Max said,lifting himself out of the pool. Once they were both inside it got quiet. That was until Tyler thought it would be funny to come up behind me and tip the inner tube,knocking me out of it.
“That wasn’t very nice.” I said when I emerged,pushing my hair out of my eyes.
“Never said I was a nice person.” He said,grinning. I rolled my eyes.
“So,Cam tells me you guys are going to be running in the mornings?” Tyler said,trying to make conversation with Chris.
“Yeah. I thought it would be good for him to get out of the house in the mornings and get some fresh air. And it gives us time to hang out.”
“I think it’s a great idea.” Tyler said.
“So if you wake you wake up early in the mornings and I’m gone,don’t freak out.” I told him.
“I won’t. You going to start going to the gym,too?”
“Maybe.” I said.
“Dad doesn’t use his gym card anymore so you could just use his.” He said.
“I’ll think about it.” I said.
“Nope. You’re going to the gym with me. ” Chris said,getting out of the pool.
“Alright then. I guess I’m going to the gym.” I said,chuckling.
“We should probably dry off a bit. I imagine we are going to be leaving in a couple minutes.” Tyler said. I nodded and got out of the pool,grabbing a towel and drying myself off as best I could. About 10 minutes later we were ready to leave and getting in our vehicles. Chris and I didn’t bother putting our shirts back on. It’s about 80 degrees,and even though the pool had cooled me down I was already starting to get sweaty again.
“We’ll meet you guys there.” Tyler said through his truck window then pulled out of the driveway. I plugged my phone in then started cranking my music then pulled out of the driveway,quickly catching up to Tyler. It’s about a 20 minute drive to the beach from here,one that Chris and I were going to spend listening to ADTR and just being our weird selves,singing along to the music. Apparently my music was loud enough for Tyler and Max to hear clearly because I got a text from Max saying “good song!”. I laughed and shook my head and turned it up a little louder. Once we got to a red light I texted Max back.
