#1 - Rossi Never Forgets

One in which Rossi upholds the promise that the BAU is a family, and always will be, no matter how far apart.

Rossi never forgets

Rossi has always favored the promise that him and his team were a family. He likes to think of himself as that uncle who expresses his love through actions, and not words.

One of these actions is keeping two calenders. One of which is used to keep track of time, and replaced each year. The other, used to note important dates. Never replaced, always being added to.

He has what you'd expect on this calender for events for the most part. Holidays, birthdays, etc.

He also has other things. Dates that, to anyone on the outside, would seem random. To him, they meant alot.

He knows why he has some of these days up there. He doesnt know why he has others up there. He has them all because he observes.

He knows why how on the same week each year, Emily returns from London to simply be with the others.

He knows why on the same day each year, Reid re-reads the same letter over and over again, and sticks closer to Hotch than normal. Morgan seems to have more a temper that day, JJ reducing to her work more than normal. Garcia staying in her 'cave', as she calls it. They're all just a bit more hostile towards him, accidentally of course. He notices how on that day they all seem much more attracted to his office than normal.

He knows why Hotch seems to dive into work on the same day every year, how they all refrain from mentioning Jack or Haley, or even Beth.

He doesnt know why Reid seems to distance himself from the team the same three days every year, or why they all refrain from mentioning anything to do with religion, drugs, or cabins.

He doesnt know why Morgan seems filled with frustration and sadness the same day each year. He doesnt know why the team avoids any speak of anything to do with child offenders, doing their best to avoid cases with that when they can.

The one thing Rossi does know about all of these is that these days make his family upset. And he decides he doesnt enjoy that.

On his events calendar, he has labeled each of the teams 'bad days', per say, which occur the same times every year.

Hotch doesnt question when Rossi invites him out for drinks on the anniversary of the worst day of his life.

Rossi never forgets

Morgan doesnt seem to mind it when he and Rossi go to sports games or go out to some fancy ass restaurant for dinner on the same two days every year.

JJ doesnt think much of it when Rossi takes her out shopping, tells her to get whatever, then takes her out somewhere nice afterwards

Emily always looks forwards to when Rossi steals an entire day of her visits just doing whatever the two feel like.

Reid is always confused, but joyful, when Rossi takes him to a park, cafe, library, or some kind of event on the same days each year and just listens to him ramble on about whatever Spencer starts to ramble about

Garcia is forever greatfull when Rossi takes time from his day to just take away any electronics she has and teach her the magic of creating something delicious in a kitchen.

The team never minds when they're invited over on the same few days every year to watch Rossi make something in his kitchen, eat it all together, and then have a movie marathon in his living room.

He doesnt forget. Rossi will never forget these days. Days of dread he has tried to make into days to look forward to. He would rather die than forget.

And maybe, he is cursed with never forgetting other things as well.

Maybe on the same day each year, he visits the grave of a woman he once loved who decided she wanted power over how she went. Maybe he sits by that grave and drinks himself away, alone. And maybe the team pretends not to notice how he comes in the next day with a horrid hangover, and pretends like they dont try to stay quieter than usual and pretends like they don't avoid talking about things that relate to suicide

Maybe on the same day each year, he gives a call to Connie, George, and Alicia. Maybe the team pretend not to notice how his hand is almost always lingering in or around his pocket that day, and maybe they pretend not to notice how his mood becomes a bit more gloomy.

Rossi never forgets

Maybe Rossi takes a day off to travel to Los Angeles and visit a few ghosts. Maybe he sends a letter to someone he and a friend had awarded a specific award which belonged to the boys grandfather. Maybe the team pretends that he never left that day.

Rossi never forgets

Maybe Rossi chooses to not bring up that he's greatfull that after his yearly bad days, he's met with nice things. Maybe he enjoys how Garcia offers him something she's baked, and how Morgan and Hotch take Rossi out the nights of those days to a bar or something of the sort. Maybe he's happy when JJ offers him a ride, and they get to talk about the most random of things, and how JJ takes the long route for the purpouse of giving them more time to speak. Maybe he finds comfort in the fact Emily visits when she can on those days, and when she cant she sends down a card and something he's expressed interest in. Maybe he finds a smile on his face in the knowing that Reid learned about specific subjects to tell Rossi about, with clear knowledge that he liked said topics. Maybe he appreciates that the team pretends not to notice how down he is, or at the very least doesnt comment on it.

Rossi never forgets, but maybe, the team doesnt forget either
