Third Person POV...
---When John woke up the next morning, the house was quiet. He didn't hear anything except his breathing and the rustle of the sheets as he sat up in the bed.
The sunlight was streaming in through the windows, so it had to be early morning. John turned around and looked at the clock on the nightstand. 10:27.
John stood up and walked out of the room, heading downstairs. When he reached the bottom of the stairs, he could see that Joey was in the kitchen. John walked on into the kitchen and seen that Joey was talking to someone on the phone.
"No, Peter, it's not like that...you two broke up anyway...we've been dating for a while now, I just don't understand why you're so mad?...it's not even a big deal, you already have another girlfriend."
John stood at the entrance to the kitchen and watched Joey as he argued over the phone.
"Listen, I'm really sorry, but I don't see why you're jealous in the first place...you and Anita have been broken up for a long time now, it doesn't make sense...that's still no excuse to be all mad and stuff...that is completely off topic! We're not talking about the bands development here!...we'll have to discuss all of this later...yeah, sure...bye." Joey hung up the phone. He turned around and was slightly startled by John's presence.
"I heard some of that conversation. What is Peter upset about", John asked.
"He's mad because I got with Anita after he broke up with her. Why would he be mad; they broke up! That means that she was single! We started talking and we hit it off, you know? There should be no problem with me dating Anita", Joey replied.
"I agree", John stated.
"That's not all. Peter said he's mad because of the development of the band. He's in a sour mood because of how the band is progressing. That's why I told him we'd have to talk about this later. It's a lot to have to discuss right now."
"I get that", John said, "I agree that you should talk with Peter again later. Maybe things will get worked out.""I hope so, but Peter already told me he doesn't want to get back in the band, which means more searching for a new bassist", Joey said.
"Have you already put the ad in the newspaper?"
"Yeah, I did that about two hours ago. I hope we can find a new bassist soon. I just want to put all of this behind me. Would you like a cup of coffee", Joey asked.
"Sure", John said.---
Later That Day...John was back at his house. He was sitting on the couch, watching tv while thinking about the band.
He wanted all of it to be over, just like Joey, but it wouldn't be over until the band had a new bassist. It could take several days or weeks before they got a response to the ad in the paper.
John had no idea what to do, but he knew he had to think of something. He couldn't let Joey sit there and go cray thinking about the band.
As the hours passed, it seemed like John wasn't thinking of any new ideas. John thought that he should give up, but then the greatest idea came to him. He jumped up and ran over to the phone, dialing Joey's number.
"Hello", Joey said.
"Hey, Joey. It's me, John. I had an idea for the band."
"Really? What is it", Joey asked in an excited voice.
"Maybe you could play the bass? We could record another demo tape and send it in, if you wanted to. It could help the record labels change their mind, you know?" There was a silence."Yeah, I guess we could do that. Be at my house at ten in the morning. I'll call Tony and let him know", Joey said. John smiled.
"I can't wait", John said cheerfully.
