It felt like hours had passed and the doctor came out, “She is in a stable condition but she is still under anaesthetic.”
“Thank you doctor, what about the baby”
“I’m sorry but we couldn’t save the baby, she’s going to be moved to another room but only two people at a time to see her she needs rest.”
“Ash you should see her first” Rose’s mother gave me a hug and I went in.
She was lying there, even in a hospital gown she looked beautiful. I sat on the stool and held her hand. “Rose I love you so much” I couldn’t help it I burst into tears and I put my head on her hand. I felt her someone put their hand on my head and I looked up
Rose was sat there smiling down at me, “Hey” her voice was raspy I handed he some water and hugged her.
“Hey baby how are you feeling” I stroked her cheek and she gave me a smile
“I feel like shit though, Ash is the baby ok” I looked at her in the eyes and shook my head I hadn’t got the courage to tell her.
“I’m so sorry baby this is all my fault if I looked after you better” she stopped my by pulling me in for a kiss. I wiped her tears and she laughed.
“You look cute when you cry, Ash this wasn’t your fault ok, no matter what we will be ok. We can always try again when I get out of here” she pulled me in for a kiss and I smirked
“You’ve just woken up from being shot and is that the first thing on your mind” she blushed and I knew everything was going to be ok.
