She cursed him for the hundredth time, stopping in front of her uncle's front door before adjusting her school uniform. Yui knew that her uncle was fully aware of where she's been or what she did, but even so, there was no need for everyone to know.
Even if they did suspect it, judging from the way they eyed her.
"Yui?" She couldn't help but let out a squeal at the sudden call of her name, instantly turning around to see an annoyed Genji.
She blinked, "Yo, Gen-chan."
"What are you doing?" He asked as they both entered the Takiya family's property, eying her slightly nervous appearance with suspicion.
Yui gulped, "Um, making sure I'm presentable before telling Uncle I'm home?" She hoped that he would buy it before remembering that she had blown Genji off for not going to meet him at the bar he likes to frequent.
He scoffed, "You didn't show up," trust the kid to point out the obvious. "Why?"
At this moment, Yui would've given anything to be back in bed with her 'boyfriend' (or was it 'friend with benefits'?) just to get away from this question. If there was someone whom Yui didn't want to know that she was fucking Izaki, one of the top players in Suzuran - it was Genji, considering that she knew why he had transferred over.
Heck, almost every guy in Suzuran went there with one goal – to rule the school of crows.
She settled for a shrug, "I was busy."
"Busy doing what?"
They both nodded at the guards in the yard, passing her uncle's men without stopping for a chat. Genji had to admit that he had no idea what Yui was doing outside of school, out of the home – in fact, he hardly knew anything about his cousin.
"None of ya business," Yui snapped, harsher than she intended. "Sorry for not answering your calls, like I said – I was busy."
He stared at her, doubt written in his eyes before shrugging. "Will you show up tomorrow?"
Genji had spoken just as Yui opened the door to the house, making her stop and stare at him strangely. It wasn't anything new that he wanted to spend time with her, but usually, it wasn't in a public place, not anymore. Plus, she did have plans tomorrow....
"Sorry, maybe another time?" She suggested, smiling at her cousin as she followed him inside.
"You're busy tomorrow as well?" There was unusual bitterness in Genji's voice, Yui noticed, and yet, she nodded, sheepishly. However, before she could say anything, they could hear her uncle's (and Genji's father's) voice speaking up.
"You're fine the way you are. I was expecting you the way you are," they both stopped in front of the so-called living room, only to see her uncle with a woman she's never seen before (and judging from the way Genji stared at the scene, it was the same for him).
"Right, Reiko?"
The two of them were greeted by one of Yui's uncle's bodyguards, unnecessarily guiding them to the current leader of the Takiya family, who had, once again, brought over some girl (or as Yui liked to call them, a whore).
"Seiko," the woman corrected tiredly, probably feeling worse than she appeared to be, earning some sort of pity and sympathy from Yui. Again, there was an issue of her uncle never remembering any names of the sluts he brought over. "It's Seiko."
Yui shook her head, attempting to follow her cousin to the hallway, which led to her room, wanting to do nothing more than sleep. She had had enough activities today. Perhaps tomorrow, she might be in the mood to deal with her Yakuza family and their problems.
