"Lady December! Where are you?" My maids shouted as they searched for me frantically.

I giggled as I hid in the secret compartment in my closet.

"She's probably not here." The maids finally gave up after a few hours of searching.

"Lady December, you should really stop giving everyone inconvenience." I was startled as my favorite maid,Yesha, found me.

"But I can't help it." I giggled as she pulled me out of my hiding place.

Once I got out she started putting me in a beautiful blue ball gown.

"Isn't this a bit tight?" I asked.

"Well, you picked this dress yourself so just take small breaths." She answered.

"Small breaths, small breaths." I chanted to my self.

After she finished putting me in a gown, she sat me down and started doing my hair.

"Your marriage is around the corner, exciting isn't it?" She said as she was brushing my hair.

"Well..." I bit my lips.

"The lad is handsome, intelligent, all the things you are looking for in a man right?" She finished.

"You know me too well, Yesha."

I looked at myself in the mirror. My hair was half tied with pieces of hair dangling in front which showed off my wavy hair finished with a dainty head piece.

I immediately went down after Yesha finished my hair.

The guests have started arriving when I went down.

"Is that December?Oh my,she has grown beautifully."

"Indeed, she takes after her mother." I heard my father talking to one of the guests as I approached them.

"Good evening, Father. Good evening, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald." I greeted.

"Happy Birthday, December." Mrs. Ronald greeted.

"Thank you." I replied.

"You look stunning in that dress, and blue? Your mother definitely will love it." My Father complimented.

"Where is Mother?" I asked.

"Well, she's still getting ready. The life of the party has to have a grand entrance." He replied.

"I'll go check on her upstairs." I told my Father.

I arrived in my parents' room and saw my Mother putting rouge on her lips.

"Knock, knock." I said as I knocked on their door.

"December, come in." She said as she turned around.

She spanned her gaze upon my dress.

"That gown looks really beautiful on you. You have grown up already." She said as she started fanning herself with her hands.

"Mother, are you crying?" I asked as I saw tears on her face.

"Y-you're no longer a baby-" She suddenly broke into tears.

She suddenly stopped.

"Okay, I can't cry. l can't be ugly on my beautiful daughter's birthday party." She immediately wiped her tears and calmed down.

My mother definitely has a side of her that's a bit crazy, and my father really loves that side of her.

"But, December, I have to talk to you about an important matter." She said in a serious tone.

"Is it about the marriage?" I asked.

"Yes. It is about that. We have to start planning your wedding." She said.

"I'm fine with whatever you put on my wedding." I said.

"But child, it is your wedding, it is an important day in your life. It has to be memorable." She protested.

"Mother, the groom is already perfect, and that's enough to make it perfect."

"Lady Klara, the Master asks you to go down, the party is about to start." A maid said as she knocked on the door.

"Thank you, Rosanna." My mother thanked her.

We went to the ballroom where the party is held.

I immediately found my friends and stayed with them for the most of the party.

Before I could even comprehend what was happening in the party,it was already over.

Currently,I am in my bedroom with Yesha and I am getting ready to rest for the night.

"Was the party fun, Lady December?" She asked.

"Definitely. Why do you ask Yesha?" I replied.

"Well, I saw you with a sour face right after Lady Coralyn and Mr. Vladimir greeted you." She said.

"Yesha, you know that Coralyn is one of my closest friends right?" I asked.

She nodded her head in agreement.

"Well, I am not glad with her husband's definition of hygiene."

She bit her lip to stop herself from smiling or laughing as she brushed my hair.

As I watched her reaction, memories of what happened a while ago started sinking back into my head.

Vladimir definitely has a foul smell and my nose is too sensitive for that. His looks, should've been his saving grace but his face matches the way he smells, like a rat who has been dead for several years.

I know my friend, Coralyn, actually loves him and poor dear must've taken a love potion by accident.

But they are happy with their lives so I will try my best not to interfere.

We suddenly hear a knock on the door.

"December..." My father whispered.

"What is it Father?" I asked.

"I just wanted to give this to you." He says as he hands me a box.

"Another gift? But I already have a lot."

"Well, I saw that this morning and I thought you would love it."

"Thank you,Father. Good night." I said

"Goodnight December." He said before he started to walk away.

Yesha immediately left after she finished brushing my hair and bid me goodnight.

I looked at the box my Father gave me.

"What could it be?" I asked myself.

I removed the ribbon and opened the box.

It revealed a journal with a very beautiful cover. It was white and had tiny flower carvings on it and a big blue gem in the middle.

It also had a pen included which also had a similar design but had a feather on top.

I started writing my first entry on it about myself and my party experience.

After I finished, I immediately settled in for the night.
