KENNEDY'S POV

"OH HELL NO," I said, shaking my head while crossing my arms across my chest.

"It's just a puppy," Logan replied, rubbing the giant dog's head.

"It's a freaking monster!" I argued, making the dog tilt his head at me.

Logan had a grand idea to buy Layla a puppy so she could forgive him.

But I don't like it at all.

It's not a tiny dog. It's a Great Dane! It's only six months old, and it's gigantic!

"No, he's not. You aren't a monster, aren't you?" Logan used his baby voice towards the dog.

"Logan, we are not keeping this...thing!" I argued, throwing my hands up in frustration.

"Why not? I thought you liked dogs?"

"I do, but not large ones."

"Well, I already bought him so he stays," he quickly replied, making me sigh.

"Fine, but if he chew up any of my stuff, he will be out," I warned him, making Logan nod immediately.

"Layla! We have a surprise!" Logan exclaimed, running up the stairs.

The monster of a dog stayed on the couch, and I continued to stand. I heard footsteps coming down the stairs, and Logan arrived with Layla in his arms.

Her eyes were closed by her hands, and Logan gently set her on the ground.

"Okay now open!" Logan announced, making Layla remove her hands.

"Oh my gosh! A dog!" Layla squealed, running to the dog.

"He is a boy, and you can name him whatever you want to," Logan informed her as he stood beside me.

"Prince Bluey," Layla said, squishing the dog's cheeks.

He seemed unbothered, and he tried to lick Layla's face making Layla giggle.

"Layla," Logan said before adding,"I am truly sorry. I shouldn't have brought up your father."

Layla nodded, understanding,"It's okay, Logan. I forgive you."

Logan smiled, and Layla asked me,"Do you like him, Mommy?"

I shrugged,"He's...okay."

"Well, good because he is my best friend now!" Layla exclaimed before hugging the dog once more.

The dog, Prince Bluey, ran upstairs, and Layla followed behind him, giggling at her new best friend.

I couldn't help but smile, and I heard a click of a camera. I looked to Logan to see him holding his phone with a smile plastered on his face.

"You taking photos over there, Logan?" I asked him, making my way over to him.

He shrugged with a tiny smirk,"Maybe, maybe not."
