The next day, David did indeed came to my house, ready to take me to my bizarre friend.
I made sure to tell my parents beforehand that I would be out meeting another new friend of mine so they would be more relaxed. Surprisingly, they didn't question many things and just let me go.
I followed unhurriedly behind David who was walking towards the forest as my anxiety kept increasing each second.
"Why are we heading in the forest?" I questioned cautiously as David finally turned around to face me with a serious face.
"We are going to use a shortcut that had to take place somewhere far away from people so they wouldn't see," he explained as I narrowed my eyes and looked down at the snow. My feet refusing to walk deeper into the naked trees of the forest. Seeing that, David turned to look at me with a worried face, "Are you feeling uncomfortable?"
"It's not that I don't trust you... It's the first time I come closer to the forest and for some reason...it's just fells strange..." I noted and David gave me an understanding nod.
"It's normal you feel this way. Many things happened here. I believe your parents informed you, didn't they?" asked David and I slowly nodded my head.
"They found me unconscious here when I lost my memories... I don't know why, but I have mixed feelings about this place. It feels both comforting and ominous at the same time. It's...kinda scary," I replied now tightening my fists and biting my lip in anxiousness.
"Sarah," began David catching my attention as I looked at him in wonder, "Be not afraid," he then voiced loudly as the wind picked up for a few seconds, making a few locks of my long black hair fly behind my head. My eyes widened as a strange feeling replaced the uneasiness in my heart. David reached out his hand and gave me a gentle smile, "Everything's going to be fine. Just stay close to me and I'll take us shortly to your friend."
All my hesitation left my body and I reached slowly to hold his hand. His hand was soft and the grip gentle. David gave me another kind smile and looked straight into my eyes.
"Are you ready?"
"I guess so...?"
He chuckled and I felt my heart flutter at the cuteness before me. A second after, the realization hit me and I turned my gaze anywhere else but him.
"Here we go then," I heard him spoke and my eyes focused in front of us. My jaw dropped and my breath was taken away. A black hole or some shorts was in front of us defying any sense of reality. I froze in place as David gave me an encouraging nod.
"This, right here, is called a portal. With that, we can move through space and teleport in a way in anyplace as long as we have already been there. In other words, with that, we'll be able to arrive at your friend in no time," he explained in detail as I stood still motionless in awe.
"David just... What in the world are you?" I whispered and David looked down at the ground in a daze.
"I wish I could know as well...," he mumbled and I looked at him in wonder.
"What does he mean with that? And that face... If only I could understand him better..."
"Come on, let's go," he then suddenly motioned for me to follow him and I did quietly as I was told. Our hands still locked together.
While passing through the portal, I couldn't see anything but black filling my vision, as a cold sensation caressed softly my body. In a step through the portal, we had arrived in a completely different location. We were now in the middle of a green lively forest with giant and thin trees surroundings us. Even tho it was only for a second, what I had witnessed felt like an out of body experience.
