It wasn't a normal day for Toshiko, it was her big day.
Her first day at U.A
She had woken up early to make herself look presentable, covering her eyebags, fixing her hair, she always wanted to look normal to feel normal, but there was just one thing that made her feel she wasn't like everybody else.
She heard a knock on her door it was her adoptive father Shota Aizawa.
"It's time go to or else we'll be late" Aizawa said in his monotone voice and Toshiko had just finished tying her shoelaces.
[Toshikos pov]
"Coming! I just cant find my bag!" I shouted nervously because I didn't want to be late.
"I'll be waiting in the car for you lock the door on your way out!" Aizawa shouted going out the front door.
"He always says that as if I don't know after the first time..!" I grumbled and continued to look for my bag
I started to get frustrated so I kicked my wall only to look behind me seeing my bag on my vanity. I heard a car honking.
"This is so stupid damn it!" I shouted and quickly grabbed it and my keys and ran out the door locking it. I ran outside and hopped in the car.
"That was longer than expected." Aizawa said driving out of our driveway
"I'm sorry" I quickly said I was embarrassed I hated messing up things so much...
I just stared out the window it was a short drive I saw other students making their way to the school most of them I saw were all pretty maybe they had good quirks too.
I was thinking more about it then got frustrated so I looked away from my head.
"We're here" Aizawa said parking the car and we both got out heading towards the schools entrance.
"You remember where to go right?" Aizawa asked me and I nodded I went through the main entrance like everyone else did
"T-tenkos here!" I heard someone in a group of people say they looked scared of me.. when I looked at them they all ran away... I noticed they were wearing my middle schools uniform I sighed because that's why they were scared of me.
I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked to my side
"Hey" My bestest friend in the whole world Shinsou said and waved! I felt happier when I get near him
"Goodmorning!" I gladly said with a smile on my face and he gave me a slight smile back and we continued walking through the hallways towards the auditorium for the welcoming ceremony.
"So where's your seat?" He asked me "Row D seat 1269" I said "Well I'm glad we're going to be sitting next to eachother" he told me so we walked to our seats it was sort of full but not completely full thankfully
"What's up U.A candidates!" ??? said "Thanks for tunin' in to me, your school DJ!" The voice said which I recognized it to my uncle... I hated and loved how loud he was..
"C'mon. And lemme hear ya!" He shouted into the crowd expecting something but everyone was quiet. It was embarrassing
"Keeping it mellow. Huh?" He slightly panicked "That's fine I'll just skip to the main show." He quickly said
"Let's talk about this practical exam is gonna go down, okay?" He told us
"Are you ready? YEAHH!" He shouted again expecting something from the crowd but silence again.
" Like your application said today you rockin' Boys and girls will be out there conducting 10 minute mock battles in super hip urban settings." He spoke "Gird your loins, my friends after I drop the mic here. You'll head to your specified battle center! Sound good?" Present mic told us
I glanced at Shinsous card "Sucks I'm in section A.." I said quietly "That's unfortunate I was looking forward to seeing you battle in person." He told me in his monotone voice like he usually did
"Okay, okay let's check out your targets. There are 3 types of faux villains in every battle center. You'll earn points based on their level of difficulty so better choose wisely! Your goal in this trial is to use your quirk to raise your score by shredding these faux villains like a mid guitar solo! But check it! Make sure you're keep'n things heroic attacking other examines is a UA no-no. Ya dig?" He explained
"Excuse me, sir, but I have a question" A voice of a guy said he was standing up and lights went to him he looked to uptight maybe he was a rich kid that only went to private schools all his life
"Hit me!" Present mic responded
The boy held the paper for the villain fauxes pointing to it "On the printout you've listed 4 types of villains. Not 3. With all respect if this is a error on official UA materials, it is shameful." He spoke
And I was probably right just another rich kid.
"We are exemplary students. We expect the best from Japan's most notable school. A mistake such as this won't do" He complained
"Jeez man.. chil it isn't that serious everyone makes mistakes sometimes" I said quietly and saw Shinsou nod in agreement
" Additionally, you with the unkempt hair! You've been muttering this entire time. Stop that if you can't bother to take that seriously, leave. You're distracting the rest of us" He scolded a boy with messy dark green hair he looked scrawny
I didn't blame the other guy though hell me and Shinsou could hear that guy from two rows above him.
"Sorry..." The boy said quietly he was most likely super embarrassed! I mean everyone else around us laughed at him. Quite embarrassing if I say so myself.
"All right. all right. Examinee number 7111. Thanks for calling in with your request! The forth villain type is worth zero points, that guy is just an obstacle we'll be throwing your way. There's one in every battle center! Think of it as a hurdle you should try to avoid its not that it can't be beaten, but there's kinda no point..." He explained
Well that sucks a stupid robot that doesn't even give you points..
"I recommend my listeners to try to ignore it and focus on the ones toppin' the charts!" He shouted
I saw the boy bow "Thank you very much. Please continue." He said sitting back down
"That's all I got for you today I'll sign off with a little present A sample of our schools motto! As general Napoleon Bonaparte once laid down "A true hero is one who overcomes life's misfortunes" Mh-hm. Now that's a tasty soundbite! You ready to go beyond? Let's hear a plus ultra!" He shouted but once again the crowd was silent!
"Good luck! Hope you practiced hitting more than just books!" Present mic quickly said then everyone got up to leave to their battle center
"Well Hitoshi I hope you make it into the hero course! I smiled and gave him a half hug and wrapped my arms around him not laying a hand on him and sprinted off to my battle center
"Gosh that was so embarrassing why did I do that!" I said quietly still speedwalking
[Shinsous pov]
She called me by my first name she never does that often but when she does it makes me feel special... my face may not show it but inside I felt like I was on cloud 9.
