Who hasn't read this type of book? Usually the ones I have seen consists of a girl have been in love with her best friend then suddenly falling for the schools 'bad boy'. I have seen so many of these if I see it I skip it. Now don't get me wrong, I have read a few cliche books like this only they changed the plot a bit. I was in love with this one book and would re-read the book constantly. But then, when the girl was about to choose who to stay with, BAM! The other choice gets hit by a car and dies. WHAT?!? Why did the author do that you might ask. She couldn't decide who the protagonist should end up with.( Please don't name this book in the comments, spoiled it.) Has anyone else read this book?
Here are some other common cliches-
Nerd girl- This is usually the main character. She is usually described to have long brown hair, green eyes(although occasionally brown or blue), average height, has glasses, and often carrying textbooks. She describes her appearance as beautiful, with no pimples or other blemishes (although as a teenager, she should have some) basically as a fricken supermodel, then calls herself ugly! Like girl, if that's ugly, I'm a potato with legs.
Popular 'jock'- Often described as the school heartthrob, and dating the head cheerleader. He is ALWAYS tall, with dirty blond hair, and surrounded by friends. When the 'nerd' girl slams into him(she always does), its described as "slamming into a brick wall". Also, when he walks into a room "all conversations stop. all eyes on him. Girls staring with love and guys with envy" what about his friends inthe room? They would still be talking wouldn't they?
The head cheerleader- Described with blond, long hair, rude, perfect, tooth pick thin only with curves, and the 'jocks' girlfriend. Also wears inappropriate clothing. When the nerd girl slams into the jock, she sneers and usually says"Watch it freak!" Is ALWAYS the 'nerds' worst enemy.
The 'bad boy'- if the protagonist doesn't love the 'jock', she loves him. He always wears all black, owns a motorcycle, mysterious, outcast, wears a leather jacket, smokes, may be a drug dealer, and has a tragic past. When he and the protagonist begin to get closer, he tells her about his past.
'Jocks' and cheerleaders- These are usually carbon copies of the head cheerleader and main 'jock' . Enough said.
