i open the door to my dorm and put my school bag on the floor. i notice there's a note on my desk so i walk over and read it.

i have something very important to ask you. come to the spot where we first met, the place we first saw eachother. (bring skates)

i smile and think of the person it is. Dwayne Robertson. The cowboy who knew the things to do and to say to get my heart. Dwayne was the best thing that happened to me.

When the ducks got back together last year for the junior goodwill games, i wasn't in the best mental state, but Connie convinced me to come back. When i met Dwayne, something just clicked. He knew where my mind was, and didn't stop trying to help me until i got better, until i got happier. he was the person who saved me when i was at my lowest, and i'm forever grateful.

so when we came to Eden Hall this year, there was no doubt that i had feelings for Dwayne, which made things confusing for me. i grab my skates and head out the door. i walk to the rink and put on and tie my skates. i skate out on the ice to see Dwayne. he's holding a piece of poster board and something's written on it but i can't quite make out the words. then i see the roses scattered around the ice, and i know what's happening.

Dwayne POV

i see y/n skate out on the ice, and she looks around and she notices the roses. as she gets closer, she reads the poster board.

"before you say anything y/n i want to say something first. ever since i saw you the day i joined the ducks, i knew i had to meet you and when i noticed you weren't alright, i stopped at nothing to help you and cheer you up, and that's when i started having feelings for you. it was confusing for me at first but it's not anymore. i love you y/n, i always have and always will, no matter what happens here. so, will you be my girlfriend?" i ask, and take a breath.

"dwayne, i loved how you were there for me when i was at my lowest and i'm grateful that you were able to bring me out of that. and when i started having feelings, it was confusing too, but now it's not. i'd love to be your girlfriend, Dwayne Robertson." she skates closer and i drop the poster board. i pick her up and kiss her. we kiss for a minute then pull away, both blushing hard and smiles on our faces. "you did all of this, for me?" she asks.

"of course i did. why wouldn't i? your the best thing that ever happened to me and you deserve the best." i say still staring at her, taking in every feature on her face. she smiles and leans in again, and we kiss again, for longer. i couldn't believe that the girl of my dreams, y/n y/l/n, is now my girlfriend, mine.
