Arabella entered the grand dining room where her parents were already waiting. The table was filled with fruits, desserts, cheeses and crackers, meats, anything a person could possibly desire. "So lovely for you to join us," Queen Aliana greeted her.
"Good morning mother," Arabella practically mumbled as she took her seat at the table. "We have exciting news!" the king exclaimed. Aidan and Arabella gave each other nervous glances. What could it possibly be? Arabella wondered. "King Volt and Prince Varian of Verendus will be visiting us!" Aidan choked on his strawberry and Arabella patted his back to try to get it unlodged. "Father are you serious? We have fought them for centuries. Did you work out some sort of alliance with them?" Arabella questioned while still trying to keep Aidain from choking. The king and queen exchanged nervous glances that did not go unnoticed by Arabella. "Mom? Dad? What's going on?" After a moments pause, Queen Aliana announced the ball that would be taking place tomorrow night. Aidain beamed while Arabella groaned. The sharp look the queen gave her sent chills up her spine. "I hate formal parties" she whispered to Aidain." "You only say that because you can not dress to save your life."Later that day, Arabella wondered what Prince Varian would be like as one of her servants fitted her dress. Would he be handsome? Kind or cruel? She had so many questions waiting to be answered. She thought how strange her parents had acted and how they have fought Verendus for centuries. Now all of a sudden everything is fine? The thoughts swirled and started to cloud her mind. I need a ride on Nova to clear my head she decided. "Guess I will find out everything tomorrow night," she mumbled to herself.
