The cold stillness of the castle reflected Varian's mood as he gathered his things for his and his father's visit to Elysia. He often wondered what the "magical" kingdom was like. The kingdom of Verendus had magic as well but it was slightly.. different. Elysia had the sun magic. Growth, wealth, happiness. While Verendus had moon or "dark" magic. Which resembled doom, death, and what most people assumed: evil. While King Volt could be cruel Varian knew his father was not evil or a villain. Varian knew that Arabella would think less of him because of their reputation. He imagined Elysia as always sunshine and rainbows and everyone being happy all the time. "Sounds like sooo much fun." He wondered out loud while rolling his eyes. He already figured the princess was a complete spoiled airhead as most princesses are. With their perfect lives and never being told no. He would never admit it, but he envied that. That perfect life with a dad he could please and a mom who could still comfort him. But his cold exterior masked all those inner thoughts. But these are thoughts for another time. Varian finished packing and put his things aside for the morning. Varian turned off his lamp and laid in his bed pondering the whole situation. He was nervous to meet Arabella. Growing up with no siblings or friends is lonely and after a while, you get used to the feeling of being alone.
