SHORTY

Chapter 1

He said he wasn't coming back, he told me that was it we won't see each other again he took me to our place and said that i have to look after it on my own. He was 5 and i was 4 we have been friends for a year and a few months, he was leaving me 3 weeks after it happened he said he would help me get through it and he said he would never leave me. But he did he left to get to new zealand, that day he broke what was left of my heart and that was the day i got my very first kiss. It's been Thirteen years.

Thirteen years since he left.

Thirteen years since it happened.

Thirteen years i've lived with a broken heart.

Thirteen years since i have kissed someone.

Thirteen years since i have been close with someone.

Thirteen years i have been crying myself to sleep looking at the last picture i have of him and his family and me and mine when we were on holiday together.

''Lol, so what do you think?'' My friend Rainy said, i'm sat in home room as Mr. Edwards is tell us about the new student that is transferring from new Zealand, and just so happens to be him the one and only mason lee my old best friend and my first kiss.

''Think about what'' i said coming out of my train of thought.

''About this new guy'' she said turning round again. We all sit with two to a table and i'm the only one with nobody sat next to me.

''He seems alright'' i lied hes perfect amazing funny he everything and he used to be all mine but know hes anybody's he won't even know its me but i guess that's the way it has to be.

''Lola, mason will be sat next to you so you better make him feel welcome he starts tomorrow okay'' Mr.Edwards said as rainy turns round giving me a wink

''Lets hope hes hot'' she whispered. You wont be disappointed girl, i wanted to say but she didn't know about him no one remembers but my dad he remembers he always looked at him like a son. Even when mason was 5 he was beautiful my dad used to say i should keep him away from all the other girls and that keep him on a tight leash, i didn't know what he meant till now i miss his so much and wished we were still best friends. The bell rang for next lessons lets hope it goes quick.

Lunch time finally came it seems to have been years from the start of the day, sat waiting for rainy to come the bitches walked past talking about mason and giggling about how hot he could be which made me want to jump on her screaming hes mine , but i can't because he isn't anymore.

''Hey girl'' rainy said sitting down with Layton who is her boyfriend of three year i must say she has got him wrapped around her little finger.

''Hey guys'' Layton gave me a nod of the head before digging into his hamburger.

''So everyone is talking about the new guy mason, i can't believe you get to sit next to him hopefully he's hot and maybe you to could you know'' Rainey said putting chips in her mouth, as well as bumping my shoulder each time she said a word. I gave her a little smile before putting a piece of fruit in my mouth.

Lunch went slow and a little awkward, but it was finally over and just two lessons before i get to go home. My last two lessons went slow very slow but at least its over now and no more tapping of pens on the desks.

Walking in the house to see dad cooking dinner and baking cookies.

''Hey dad what's the special occasion'' i asked pointing to the cookies on a plate, the only time he bakes cookies if its a birthday or anniversary.

''Well we know have new neighbors they just moved in and i just thought i would take them some cookies to welcome them ba-to make them feel welcome'' he said turning off the oven and then turning around i gave him a funny look as to why he stop himself the started saying something completely different.

''Are you coming with me'' dad said picking up the plate and then walking out the door, quickly following him out i now see the removal truck parked outside the house. How did i not notice that. Walking to the front door as a man about dads age was walking out.

''Lucas Evan its been a long time'' i gave the man a confused look as a guy walked up behind him he looked about my age. But something looked familiar about those grey-blue eyes.

''Shorty'' the guys said as it hit me as to why he look so familiar.
