"Unable are the loved to die, for love is immortality." - Emily Dickinson

Iman
Car crash. No survivors.
Those are the words I heard from Ahad Mamu, as the call volume was high.
And then I began to scream. It was a tragic reflection of the day Mama found out about her parents' deaths in a car crash. She was screaming and crying, even as Papa held onto her.
"MAMA!" I screamed, as tears leaked through my eyes like a water pipe had burst inside them.
"Iman." Dropping his phone, Papa rushed over to me, and again, it was a sad reminder of a day years ago, as he grabbed onto my shoulders. "Iman, listen to me."
"MAMA!!!" I was suddenly finding it difficult to breath and I doubled over.
"Iman..."
I blacked out just as Hamza Bhai and Hania Appi ran into the living room, both looking anxious. I felt Papa's strong arms hold me as the world turned into darkness around me.

Hania
"What happened?!" I panicked. "WHAT HAPPENED TO MAMA?" I found myself screaming at my father, my whole body shaking with fear.
"Hania, relax." Hamza put his hands on my shoulders.
"DON'T TELL ME TO RELAX!" I snapped at him, before turning to my father, who looked shaken himself. "Papa, please tell me...WHAT HAPPENED TO MY MAMA?!"
"There was a car accident." He scooped Iman up into his arms and set her down onto a sofa.
"A car accident?" I repeated in shock. "Tell me that there's not even a scratch on her."
"She and Arhaan are fine." He shook his head, in shock himself. "Zafar's looking into it, but there were no survivors in the other car. That car smashed into Arhaan's car from behind and skidded around, crashing into the barrier at the side of the road."
"She's okay?" I confirmed, relieved.
He nodded, staring at Iman. "Hamza, beta, can you get some water from the kitchen?"
"Yes, Uncle." Hamza immediately rushed out, now that he knew that I was okay.
"Oh, thank Allah!" I sank down into an armchair. "I was terrified."
"Hania, meri jaan, go and get some rest. Your mother would be furious at me if she saw you in this state." Papa told me, just as Hamza returned with water.
"But...what about Mani?" I looked at my unconscious sister. "Why did she freak out then?"
"She just head titbits of the conversation with Ahad, and she missed most of it." He explained, looking at Hamza. "Hamza, take Hani upstairs. I'll take care of Iman."
He wasn't meeting my gaze. He was hiding something from me. "Papa, are you being honest with me?"
"Of course I am, Hani. You really think I'd be this calm if anything had happened to Mina, God forbid?" My father finally looked at me.
