she pours the pills out onto the floor and counts them, making sure she has at least 35. the overdose value is 25, but that never seems to work for people. as she counts her heart starts to beat faster, out of excitement or out of panic she's not sure, but she knows that she's going to do this. she reaches the last pill. "40." she whispers aloud. perfect. she grabs the water and picks up a handful of 5. "alexa" she says, the pills resting on her tongue. "play jubilee line by wilbur soot."
norrthern and waterloo and city lines,
and national rail services
this train terminates at stanmore
wasting your time
you're wasting mine
i hate to see you leaving
a fate worse than dying
she smiles at the irony, grabbing another handful of pills and swallowing them.
your city gave me asthma
that's why i'm fucking leaving
your water gave me cancer
and the pavement hurt my feelings
another handful of pills gets swallowed.
shout at the wall
'cause the walls don't fucking love you
shout at the wall
'cause the walls don't fucking love you
she sings the next part with will, enjoying the sound of the guitar getting louder to cover up the train. one more handful is taken.
"there's a reason
london puts barriers on the tube line
there's a reason
london puts barriers on the rails"
she smiles again, one more handful. she's at 25 now. her head feels a bit woozy, but she keeps going.
there's a reason
another handful.
that london puts barriers on the tube line
there's a reason
another handful.
that london puts barriers on the rails
there's a reason
another handful.
that london puts barriers on the tube line
there's a reason
she whispers the last line with wilbur.
"they fail"
then the world around her fades away, and she's finally able sleep peacefully.
