I was having such a great day. The website re-launch project was going well and I hadn't even seen the jerk from the first day. I had learned that he was the representative from headquarters, well... oops. Monica told me that he thought she was me and that his name was Jackson, claiming that he was actually really nice. Yeah right, he was only nice because she was part of the design company that was hired. He probably looked down on people that weren't of his level. What a jerk.
I didn't like him either way and I hoped to never see him again, especially because I pretended I didn't know any English. I laughed to myself remembering about that, but I had forgotten that I was with my team designing the first draft of the website.
Everyone had turned to look at me. "What are you laughing at?" Jason, one of the designers, said.
"Sorry, I just remembered something really funny. Anyways, this meeting is over. Y'all know what to do. Also, I'll be meeting with every single one of y'all tomorrow to talk about your individual projects. Please submit the reports today so I can look them over for tomorrow. I am out for the day, so if you need anything, please text me or ask Monica. I'll see y'all tomorrow!" I finished off and everyone left the conference room.
"You're off to your sister's school?" Monica asked. It was career day at the elementary school my sister worked at and she had asked if I wanted to be a speaker in her classroom, and of course I said yes. I would do anything for her.
"Yeah, I was supposed to be there earlier but she knew I had this meeting, so she set me up to present after lunch.." I told her.
"So you're having lunch with her?" She asked.
"Um, no. I'm actually having lunch with Luca." I said, not looking her in the eye.
I wasn't much of a dater, but this guy was very persistent, so I ended up saying yes to him. There was nothing wrong with him. He was a great guy and handsome too, but I just wasn't one to date, and I really wasn't looking for love right now.
"Oh my gosh!" Monica gushed. "You have to tell me everything later! I can't believe you finally said yes. He is so cute!" She said.
She was always wanting me to date someone, and always trying to set me up with random men. I thought it was funny, and I always ended up telling her no. My sister and best friend also wanted me to date. I mean, my sister is married, and Lucy was engaged. I was the only one without someone. But they just didn't understand that I hadn't yet found someone that I wanted to be with. I wanted to find 'the one'. I was over with dating. I had done that in college and the relationships never went anywhere, now at age twenty-seven, I just wanted to focus on myself, and if love came at me out of nowhere, then I guess I couldn't argue with it.
"Fine I'll tell you everything, but I just said yes to him because he wouldn't stop asking and I told it should be lunch, before we went out to dinner. We'll it's more like a brunch today." I told her.
"Wait, so you're saying that there might be another date?" She squealed. She was so into my love life, or lack thereof.
"No. Definitely not, but I didn't want to be mean to him. He's a nice guy but I'm just not one to date." I shrugged.
"Aww." She pouted then smiled. "I'm pretty sure you'll want another date with him." She said.
I was over talking about it, so I just shrugged. "Okay, I have to go, I can't be late to my sister's school." I told her. "Make sure they turn in the reports." I reminded her and went out the door.

I had a good time at brunch. Luca was an amazing guy, I couldn't deny that, but I was not feeling a spark.
He was a gentleman all throughout brunch, and I had fun with him, but I just couldn't explain what was making me not want to give him a second chance. It was just like a gut feeling that we were just going to waste each other's time.
I had thought about it all the way to the school. I liked him, but I just couldn't exactly pinpoint what that feeling was that prevented me from pursuing a relationship with him.
I was in deep thoughts when I heard my phone ring, causing me to jump a bit. I was already getting off my car when I answered it. It was my sister calling me.
"Hey, are you on your way already?" She asked.
"Yeah, I'm already making my hair at to the entrance." I told her.
"Alright, meet me in Lucy's classroom because I'm in the restroom." She told me.
"Eww." I laughed. "You're talking to me while you're in the restroom?" I asked, a bit louder than I would have liked.
"No, I'm barely entering the restroom, you weirdo. Just meet me in Lucy's room. I have to go." She said and hanged up.
I was giggling while looking at my phone, that I didn't notice the man standing off to the side speaking into his phone in a British accent, until he suddenly shouted at me. Or more like he sounded... excited?
"Hey! It's you! So you speak English after all?" He said. I didn't know who he was talking to so I turned to look.
And I couldn't believe it was him. That jerk from Pierce Industries. What the hell was he doing in my sister's school? What the hell was he doing at an elementary school? I just couldn't even believe I had to encounter this jerk again. I mean, I knew I would eventually meet him. But I didn't think it would be here, of all places. And I definitely didn't think it would be this soon.
I faked not knowing what he was talking about. Because he was talking to me, as he was directly staring at me.
"I'm sorry, I don't know what you are talking about." I said and walked away.
