"Wait." He called out. "You're the girl that went inside the building of Pierce Industries. The one with the t-shirt from the ones that did the catering. They had your same shirt but you weren't there. Yet you pretended you didn't know any English. You lied to me." He said.

"I'm sorry, but you really must have me confused." I told him.

"No, I don't. I never forget a beautiful face." He said and I just rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, well that girl mustn't have been a beautiful person because you forgot what she looked like." I said and started walking away once more, this time he didn't stop me.

I was having such a wonderful day and he just ruined it. I just couldn't understand what he was doing here. He couldn't have been following me because he didn't even know who I was and he was here before me. So what the hell was he doing here?

I decided to put those thoughts away and get on with my day. It was a beautiful day and I wasn't going to let him affect it. I just headed towards Lucy's classroom.

I waited for the front door to open. It was a very safe school and that was what I liked. If only I was gifted in teaching the young, I would probably be working in the same school as my sister.

When I was finally permitted to enter, which was very easy to do as most of the office staff knew my sister was a teacher there, I headed towards Lucy's classroom.

I entered without even knocking. I was used to coming around since both my sister and best friend worked here, I was usually here to volunteer, whenever my time permitted of course.

"You would not believe who I just saw outside." I told Lucy. She was looking down at her laptop with brows furrowed.

"Who, love?" She asked, in her hybrid British-American accent.

I had met her in high school. She was the new kid in town that was from out of the country. Everyone was amazed by her British accent and they wanted to be her friend. But she just wanted to quietly read her books. We had connected for our love of books. We both loved reading and immersing ourselves into a fictional world. I was seating in the library when I noticed her reading one of my favorite book, when I decided to suggest another series from the same author, and we just immediately clicked. The rest was definitely history. She was there when my parents died, then when I started rebelling against my sister. She helped me fulfill my desires to rebel, yet also setting me back to be a good person, reminding me that my sister just wanted to help and that I was not the only one that had lost a parent. And she was there when m sister got engaged, I was happy for her, but I was also worried that she was going to leave me and I was not going to have anyone anymore, but Lucy showed me that he was just going to be someone else I could love and that was going to have my back no matter what. She was always there and she was the most sincere friend I had ever had. She was the absolute best.

"The jerk I told you about." I had immediately told her and my sister about the jerk I had met that day. Monica had told me his name but I didn't care to remember.

"What? Really?" She asked, still looking down at her computer. "Oh, by the way. My cousin is in town. I really want you to meet him." She said excitedly.

I knew she wanted to set me up with him, but she always denied it. "Luc, I've told you-"

"It's not a set up! I swear! He is just really close to me. He has always been like a brother to me. I basically grew up with him. You know his family took us in after my dad died. So I look up at him as a brother." She said.

I knew her entire life story, so I understood that she loved her cousin, but I still felt like deep down she was trying to set me up with him.

"Fine." I told her and she grinned.
