she carries you to bed

Heejin slowly opened her heavy eyes.

She closed them again as she stretched her arms out over her head, a yawn escaping her lips as she did so.

After, she opened them again and frowned as she looked around.

She realized she was still on the sofa.

The lamp on the table beside her was still on, the tv also on but the screen was dark since you both fell asleep during the movie.

She turned her head and to her surprise, she didn't see you anywhere.

She frowned and got ready to get up to look around for you.

She wondered if you'd gone up to bed and didn't want to wake her up because she's been working hard this week and needed some good sleep.

But her heart skipped a beat when she heard a few soft sounds fall from your lips and felt you shift around on her lap.

Staring down, she smiled from ear to ear as she saw you curled up to her. You were sound asleep with your head on her lap, your hand resting on her clothed thigh.

She reached down to brush her fingers through your hair.

Although she didn't mean to wake you, she also couldn't complain when you opened your eyes and stared up into hers.

"Hey, baby. I guess we fell asleep during the movie."

You nodded before yawning quietly.

"How about we go up to bed and go back to sleep there?" She asked as her eyes started to get a little heavy again.

"No." You mumbled and closed your eyes again. "I'm too sleepy."

"Oh, honey." She whispered as she started to play with your hair. "I know. I'm sleepy too. But we can cuddle when we get up there. It'll be just a minute to get up there and then we can go right back to sleep."

You didn't say a word and Heejin realized that it was because you already fell back asleep.

"Guess I'll be carrying you up there, huh?" She giggled and kissed your head quickly before she got up.

She gently placed your head back on the cushion before she picked you up.

She was careful, making sure her grip was as secure as possible so you wouldn't fall.

She made her way to the stairs and when she took the first step, she felt you bury your face in her neck and she couldn't help but smile to herself.

She felt your warm breath fan against her skin and she brushed her hand along your back as you drifted back off to sleep.

She reached the top step a moment later and walked to your shared bedroom.

There was a flutter in her heart when she felt your lips brush against her skin.

"Are you awake?"

"Barely. But don't put me down."

"I didn't plan on it, sweet girl." She whispered as she reached the bedroom.

With a kiss to your head, she laid you down in bed.

You opened your eyes to meet hers. You watched them sparkle before your eyes became too heavy to keep open any longer.

You felt the warm blanket be draped up to your shoulders, followed by the brush of Heejin's lips on your temple.

She laid down beside you and happily let you curl up to her, tangling her legs with yours.

"Sleep tight, my love."

"I love you," you mumbled against her skin, quickly drifting back off to sleep.

"I love you more." She said as she kissed your head, her lips lingering for a few seconds before she pulled away.

She rested her cheek on your head and started to fall asleep again, much warmer and cozier now that she gets to hold you this way.
