she comes home to find you asleep

Heejin walked inside your shared home after a long day in the studio.

It's almost midnight and although she knew she'd most likely find you asleep in bed, worn out from your long day, she couldn't help but hope you'd be awake.

She wanted to hug you. Her day was so stressful and she just needed a big hug from you.

She thought the lights would be off and you'd be up in bed under the covers, sleeping soundly.

But to her surprise, she found the lamp beside the couch was on and the tv was too.

She took off her shoes before padding across the floor to the sofa.

At first, she thought you just got so tired and went up to bed without remembering to turn everything off.

But her eyes lit up when she saw you sleeping on the sofa, curled up in just one of her shirts with your head on one of the throw pillows.

You looked a little cold, shivering just a bit, and Heejin instantly grabbed the blanket from the back of the sofa to cover you up.

Afterward, she knelt on the floor and brushed her fingers through your hair.

As much as she just wanted to pull you into her arms for a hug when she first arrived home, she found herself feeling just as comforted like this.

Watching you sleep, listening to every breath you breathed in and out, warmed her heart.

"I love you so much." She whispered as she kissed your forehead.

As much as she hated the idea of sleeping without you, she didn't want to wake you.

So she turned off the tv and reached to turn the lamp off too, only for you to reach for her hand to stop her from doing so.

You opened your eyes and wrapped your fingers around hers.

"Hey, baby," she smiled, her eyes sparkling as she gazed into yours. "How long have you been sleeping?"

"I don't know exactly. I was trying to wait up for you but I got too sleepy." You yawned. "You were going to go up to bed without me?"

"You looked like an angel. I didn't have the heart to wake you." She said as she smiled at you. "You're awake now. Want to go up to bed?"

"I'm too tired. Lay here with me." You said and scooted back, patting the couch for her to curl up with you. "Let's just sleep here tonight."

"Okay, cutie." She smiled as she laid down beside you, happily holding you as you curled up to her and put your head on her chest after she turned the lamp off.

You pulled the blanket that she covered you up with over her too.

"Thank you, my love," she smiled and kissed your head lovingly. "I love you."

"I love you too and I missed you today." You whispered back to her, already falling fast asleep with her arms around you.

"I missed you too. So much." She said as she brushed her fingers along yours. "Sweet dreams, baby girl."

"You too, baby." You mumbled and cracked a small smile, falling asleep just like that as her you listened to her heartbeat, as warm and cozy as ever.
