NOT GUILTY!!

Chapter 1

Rain was pouring heavily giving the crime scene a sense of disturbance, It was rarely pouring at this time of the year in hailing cove yet here they were with two unexpected incidents happening  in one day. One was the rain but the other one had shook the people of hailing cove as the body of Mathew Jackson was found in the abandoned Mansion of hailing cove.

The mansion was so old it was known as the old heart of the town.

The police were accompanied at the crime scene by the residents of hailing cove as soon as they found out that Mathew Jackson was found dead.

Mathew Jackson was one of the rich businessmen  of the town and he hadn't held back to flaunt his wealth. Having a big mansion full of expensive stuff and cars with a beautiful girlfriend and no criminal record everyone seemed to think the life of Mathew Jackson was perfect until something happened which resulted in Mathew to end up like this in an abandoned Mansion.

Mathew Jackson was known as the cheerful guy, he was in his early thirties and always up for a conversation, everyone was fond of him, he had no enemies that's what everybody thought but now they weren't so sure.

Most of the people surrounded the mansion.While some of the officers were investigating the crime scene while some were stopping people from going inside.

The crime scene was a total mess, broken glass was spread on the ground while few wooden chairs were broken and the blood was pooling around the dead body which was found at the top floor of the mansion.

The case was being lead by the detective inspector Scott Ryder as Mr. Jackson's Girlfriend Autumn Phoenix had came up to him with the information about the death.

No one knew Autumn more than she was Mr. Jackson's girlfriend, she was assumed as the shy girl, who would rather be with a book than in someone's company, everybody thought she was the kind of girl to hold herself back from things outside her comfort zone.

Nobody knew how she ended up with Mathew Jackson but no one asked Mr. Jackson about her as he rarely talked about her, It was suspicious but people of the town knew better than to come in Mr.Jackson's way.

One of the Officers told Scott, "The Girlfriend came to you, don't you think kind of weird for her to wander around this part or how would she have discovered the body. I think she might have did it."

"I don't think so, I think she might be innocent, we'll know soon." Scott replied but from the inside he thought that while she didn't knew Scott but she had beame a part of Scott's life for the past year. He knew her as the girl with the routine. He had never talked to her but knew her routine as she followed it everyday and he saw her everyday as her routine had became a part of his.

As Autumn Phoenix was led out of the mansion by an officer a few people saw her and started talking,

She is his girlfriend 

Do u think she did it?

She was only with him for his wealth

 Now she got it all by killing him

Few started screaming at Autumn about how she had killed Mathew for his wealth and all.

The screaming turned into rage and there was chaos everywhere and by now everyone suspected autumn as the killer.

Some of them tried to get to autumn and hit her but before anything could happen Scott came as he heard the commotion and tried to calm the people down.

Few days ago

Autumn's PoV 

I was in my room alone again, it's night and even though my boyfriend should be here as we are in the same house, he is in his study going over work. He is a workaholic, he wasn't like that when we met, he was just a free spirit but something changed after a month I agreed to move in with him.

Someone knocked on my door I told them to come in, it was the maid telling me that Mathew had gone out for some business and wouldn't be back till morning.

I exactly knew where he had gone and it wasn't for business, he had gone to the old mansion,I had found out about the mansion a year ago but nothing interesting had came up until this month, I still wasn't sure where it all pointed but I was going to find out soon.

I knew that the answers to my questions were connected to the old mansion as Mathew had been going to it for the past year or maybe more and the change in his behaviour would be only explained if I got the answers but it was going to be a long way but I'm determined to find out.

I hope tomorrow I get a little closer to my destination.
