It's been a month since fathers wives have passed away. Since then, his training for my sisters and I as kinoichi have been very hard. We barely have resting days and whenever we do, it's because father has a hard time breathing due to his long term illness. Even then, it's tough. Our wounds heal very slowly and our bodies ache terribly. My brothers have been training viciously as well, we've all had our fair share of injuries today. Hopefully tomorrow's training is lighter and father will get better soon. Maybe that'll put a smile on his face.

"Y/n, you will get back to training right this instant." Y/n inches into the corner of their estate, her small body trembling in fear as her father holds out a kunai in anger.

"Please father, don't hurt Y/n!" Tengen says while holding onto his own kunai, slightly tucking it behind his back as if trying to hide it away from their father who he knew would have forced a sparring match on them.

The head of the Uzui clan takes his daughter by the hair, grazing his kunai onto her cheek with his other hand as her feet fail to support her own weight before throwing her back onto the cold floor.

"Y/N!" Tengen yells out in attempt to grab his younger sister who silently shoved his arms away, getting up after the intense glare her father had given her.

"You will learn to obey a mans orders. That's what your duty is as a woman of the Uzui clan."

"Yes father." The young girl looks up at her father, nodding before taking her leave. Walking past the two older family members and heading outside to where she resumes her training as a kinoichi with her older sisters.

Today father lashed out at me and carved a tiny scratch into my cheek. He's strict but I didn't think he'd get physical with me, Atleast not that serious. Maybe it's because he's frustrated?...Screw that. He hates us. Me. Ever since his wives got killed by the other clan, he's been on our asses. Day and night. I don't blame him though, nobody really can. He loved them more than us. And they're gone, all gone, but when is he going to get over it? It's been so long. I feel sorry for him, Hopefully the gods aren't hard on him in his next life.

"Brother... is this what people mean... by home?"
Y/n looks up at her brother as he cleans up another wound their father had inflicted on her for being 'out of place'.

"What do you mean?" Tengen asks softly, dowsing the wound in alcohol. Surprised Y/n hadn't made a sign of feeling pain due to the burning wound.

"Whenever I'm in the village with father for marriage interviews, people tend to be loud about this so called 'home' of theirs and how happy they are... if that is what home is, then why are we not there?" Tengen can only sigh softly at her words.

Yet had no clue how to answer.

"I sure do want whatever that home feeling is."

I talked to Tengen about home today. I'm starting not to like ours.

"Y/n you need to eat." Tengen whispers out to his sister who he had managed to sneak bit of food out for after his trip to the village with his father after a few marriage interviews with kinoichi.

Y/n shakes her head, resuming her training alone before being forcefully stopped by Tengen who tugs on her wrist. "You can keep silent all you want but please let me give you food." She drops her hands to her sides as her brother begins to unwrap a pork bun much to her convenience, handing it to her before taking a place on the fallen tree trunk where she joins him.

"How long has it been since you've stopped talking completely? We miss hearing your voice." Tengen chuckles, looking up at the blue sky that slowly darkened before turning to watch as Y/n chews slowly.
