F O R T H E F I R S T T I M E that day Laila finally got some time alone in her favorite place of Las Encinas - the library. Surely, she wasn't some elite member or vip and got the library all to herself like she would've preferred. There were students scattered across the bright library, either studying, picking up books for their curriculum or just chatting since there seemingly weren't other spots to talk in.

Despite some of the students using library for wrong reasons, Laila didn't care much about the people and continued to walk through bookshelves, picking out books she'd need for her literature lessons. A small smile graced Laila's lips as she continued to pick up the books, the covers new and just how she liked since Las Encinas was sure to fill their shelves with newest editions. If Laila used to hate everything about her school before, she never once held an ounce of hatred for the library.

After picking out her books, the girl settled at a desk near the windows, where the light shone the brightest, feeling as though she had changed during the summer, choosing places where she could be seen unlike her previous school year. Things have changed, Laila knew, and yet she couldn't decide whether it was a good thing or not. She couldn't understand whether she enjoyed a change in her of becoming a more sociable braver girl since she used to enjoy her time alone.

Nevertheless, as Laila sat in her favorite room of Las Encinas by herself, enjoying her time to herself, she realized that, perhaps, some things were still the same as she opened the book and began to read in satisfaction. After meeting Rebeca or talking to Samuel, or even watching Alonso get along with her friends, Laila felt tired already so a good book on her free period would heal her up just fine.

However, as she continued to read her book, the words on the page quickly got no meaning because her mind was entirely somewhere else. Laila thought about Guzman's look when he saw her talk to Samuel, a guy he proclaimed to be his biggest enemy. Laila tried not to react much since meanwhile Samuel was still her friend, Guzman cut all ties with her three months ago. He had no possession of her, nor were their deal still in process.

Laila tried to tell herself that she was fine with everything, that she had forgotten Guzman like she had forgotten him during the summer, but to know he was so close to her again, practically always in eye sight made her feel annoyed and yet deep down extremely excited. Laila regarded herself insane but that boy had switched things up inside of her unlike any other person before.

And now they'd see each other almost every day. And yet again it was a mixture of disdain and joy for it.

Laila sighed deeply and raised her eyes up from the pages, rubbing her itchy eyebrow in exasperation over this situation, wondering whether it was foolish and cowardice of her to go back to her ways of avoiding Guzman. But then again if her body reacted to him like this, Laila didn't know whether she'd be physically capable of doing it.
