Lev's POV:
"I'm home!" I yelled, kicking off my shoes at the entrance and shoving them on the shoe rack.
"Levochka~ How was your first day at the club?" I hear my sister, Alisa, ask from the living room. I grinned, running over to take a spot next to her on the couch. The TV played her favourite K-drama while she sat entertained with a bowl of popcorn on her lap.
"Well today I met my teammates! They're all really cool and strong and I walked one of them home! He's actually quite nice even though he can be mean at times- but I don't mind cause I think he's kinda cute when he's mad. Oh! And tomorrow I'm meeting up with him in the morning for extra practice. Now you'd think that it took me a lifetime of convincing to get a person like him to come but he actually straight up agreed!!" I stole a handful of popcorn from my sister's bowl and stuffed them in my mouth before continuing.
"To be honest, I really wanna get to know him better. I haven't seen him play in any official matches before but I bet he's pretty awesome! His teammates talk good about him too and that made me even more determined to practice more so I can be just as good as he is! I hope tomorrow I'll be able to get closer to him and sharpen my skills~" I rambled on, my mind loaded with thoughts of Yaku-san.
"Ooh~ He seems interesting. It's great you had a good first day then! My day at school today was boring as hell, our professor held us back another twenty min- HEY!" She suddenly slapped my hand that was reaching out for another handful of her popcorn. I snickered, looking back at the TV. She glared at me before continuing her talk on why her physics professor should leave his job for quote on quote, "the sake of his students' wellbeing."
We chatted a little for a while before I went to join my mother at the dinner table. She made me a plate of my favourite inari sushi along with stir-fried vegetables and rice. Between mouthfuls, I would tell her about her about my day and Yaku-san, to which she would let out a little chuckle whenever I talked about his reactions to my teasing.
She would mention how I talk to him as if we were childhood best friends, leaving me feeling embarrassed yet giving me more thoughts on potentially spending more time with him. I felt hopeful by the end of our friendly conversation, and couldn't stop smiling when my mother encouraged me to get closer to Yaku-san...
Which reminds me! Our practice match tomorrow!I quickly cleared my plate and returned it to the kitchen, before dashing to my room. After my shower, I jumped on my bed and made myself comfortable under my blanket before picking up my phone. From there, I saw one notification.
That must be him, I thought.---
A/N: bold text = Yaku's messages (incoming msgs)

Hey
Yaku-san! Heyy >.<
I saved his contact into my phone, renaming it. And almost immediately, he replied to my text. My face lit up at his message, and I tapped my fingers quickly on my keyboard to respond to him.
Yaku-san! 😽
Hello again Lev
How are you Yaku-san??
Got back home safe?Yes, I'm all good.
Just took a nice hot shower
Anyway, it's getting late so I
can't stay on much longer.
Goodnight and see you tomorrow
DONT BE LATE!!I chuckled at his last message, my head automatically reading it in his voice.
I won't be late Yaku-san!!
Night night (・∀・)
sleep well!You too, Lev
---
I switched off my phone, plugging in a charger before flipping over on my bed to look at the window outside. It was the first few days of summer here in Japan, known to be one of the liveliest times. The gentle moonlight shone through my open windows, inviting a cool breeze to ripple through my curtains. The faintly sweet, relaxing smell of lavender outside wafted in, circulating in my room a little before the breeze stopped.
My eyes landed on two stars in the distance. They were adjacent to each other, twinkling softly in the indigo of the night. I chuckled a little noticing how one star was bigger then the other. It's like me and Yaku-san. I thought.
I tossed and turned under my blanket that was too short, leaving my feet poking out. Irritated, I threw it off me and sprawled my limbs across the bed. It's especially humid today.
I let out a long sigh, before letting my eyes close.
I can't wait for tomorrow...A/N: this chapter was a little short which is pretty uncommon, but next one will be definitely be longer :) hoped you enjoyed it anyway!
