2- Breaking News

Your P.O.V

You brushed your (h/c) out of your face, seeing Vincent cuddled up with a blanket. You wore a (f/c) tank top, a (f/c) hoodie, some black jeans, and your boots. The sun slowly began to rise. A bird chirped off in the distance, the clock hands landing on 8:45 am.

You had finished eating breakfast and brushing your teeth, the time slowly began to strike 8:55. The interview started at 9:10 and it took ten you minutes to get there. The keys were on the counter and you quickly rush to your (favorite car).

The department was pretty tall and it had dark, grey windows. You walked in and saw many people looking at screens, filing papers, or drinking coffee. The sheriff smiled warmly, shutting the glass door and letting you take a seat.

"Let's start, shall we?"

Vincent's P.O.V

I made the bed and sat on the couch boredly. On my lap, was a bowl of cereal, which I almost spilled on myself. It felt different not having (y/n) here. The house was quiet and lonely. Except, I was here.

I flipped through channels and decided to listen to music instead. It's barely 10:25 am, and she isn't home yet. I scrolled down until I found Awake and Alive by Skillet. Turning it up to max volume, I washed my bowl and cleaned the house.

When my phone rang, I smiled like a kid getting a toy, and answered.

"Hello?"

"Hey son."

My hopes were let down and I sighed quietly, making sure my mom didn't hear. "Hey mom."

"How are you and (y/n) doing so far?"

"Perfect, she's all I wanted mom. You know."

"I know she is son, i'm glad you're happy with her. Is she there? There's something I need to tell her urgently."

"No, she isn't. But I think she'll be coming home in about a few minutes. Why, what's wrong?" I said, sitting down and running my fingers through my hair. "It's about her parents, call me back when she's home."

"Alright, I'll call."

"Bye, love you and take care."

"Love you too. Bye." And the line went dead.

Your P.O.V

Sheriff Barnes gave you your uniform and papers. You had to look over them and practice. You felt your phone vibrate and saw the name tag.

My Life

You smiled and answered.

"(y/n)?" He let a breath out through the phone.

"Yeah darling?"

"Are you almost done? My mom called and said she had to tell you something."

"I'm about to leave. And about what?"

"It's about your parents. She sounded shocked and worried."

"I'm going now, I'll be home quickly."

"Okay i love you."

"I love you too." You hung up and walked down the hall of the police department. The sun gleamed brightly and you made it to your car.

You drive as fast as you could and make it through the door. Vincent hugs you and kisses you over and over. "Let me call her."

"Mom? Yeah, she's home. She's right here." He handed you his phone and you held his hand softly.

"Hey sweetie. This is going to hurt you, and I'm sorry." She paused and on the other end, you could hear sniffles and her shaky breathing. "Someone murdered your parents."

Your eyes began to fill with tears and you shook your head. "No, please tell me it's not true."

"I'm sorry love, but they found your mother with her eyes out. And your father with cupcake icing and blood in his mouth."

You fell on your knees and cried. Vincent held you close and rubbed your back gently. Your parents, the two people who were in your eighteen years of life, be gone. "They can't be dead, this isn't real."

"They also found your sister holding a plush bear in her arms. She was down in the basement, hanging from the lamp."

You cried harder in his arms and dropped the phone. You tugged the ends of your hair, feeling him slowly rocking you. "I'm here for you, I'll always be."

That night, you were in the corner hugging your knees. Your eyes were dry and puffy from crying, hearing the people closer to you, be harshly killed. The memories of them flashed through your mind, seeing how much happiness they gave you.

Vincent walked in and sat beside you. "(y/n), we'll fight together. I won't leave you alone and I promise to never let you slip away."

He sat you on his lap, and laid your head on his chest. "Why them?" you stuttered. He held you close and tight, it was silent. Vincent carried you to bed, laying you down, and covering both of you with the blanket. He pulled you close to him and kissed your forehead.

"Sleep babe. I'll be watching you while you sleep."

You breathing started to go to its normal pace, his arms securely around you. "I love you."

"Me too, goodnight." he whispered until sleep washed over your tired body.
