Authors note- I'm having them start class on a Wednesday.)

When Avila woke up the next morning, it took a few seconds for her to place where she was. She heard the water in the shower running and laid there until Elgin walked out. She gave a small smile of greeting then went to get ready.

It was time for breakfast, so the two first years went into the common room.

'There's no-one out here.'

Avila shrugged, then said 'Maybe they went with out us? Do you want to wait or head on down?' Elgin shrugged. 'Lets go on down. I'm hungry.'

The two first years walked out of the dungeons and into the Great Hall. There were no Slytherins there, either. Avila and Elgin walked to the same seats they had sat in when they had been sorted. Pietro saw them walk in and seeing no other Slytherins around, walked over to them, Jack in tow.

'Hey, Avila. Settled in well? There's someone I want you to meet.'

'Pietro.' Avila greeted her brother. 'I've settled in just nicely. I already met Jack. We crossed the lake together. I wrote a letter for our parents. Can you send it when you send yours?'

'Why? Too good to walk to the Owlery?'

'No, Puff.' A voice behind Pietro called. 'Its because she figured that you were going to send a letter and since she is a first year, she didn't know where it is.' The boy speaking looked to be either a Sixth or Seventh year Slytherin. Pietro paled when he saw who was standing behind him.

'Uhh, hello Sir. I'd be happy to help her.' Pietro took the letter from Avila and fled from the Great Hall. Jack looked curiously at the boy.

'Sir? Who are you?'

'Well, firstie, I'm Jericho Parkinson.' He waited for a reaction from anyone. Getting none, he continued, 'Pansy Parkinson is my mother.' Avila saw the resemblance then, a scrunched up face and pale skin.

Thankfully, the rest of the Slytherins came into the Great Hall and started sitting down. Avila gestured to Jack that he should go back to his table. He did. Avila and Elgin sat down with a nod from Jericho. He went and sat at the back end of the table, near the doors. He sat down and ran his fingers through his dark hair. Girls on that end of the table fawned over him and were playfully attempting to fix his hair. He swatted them away.

'Students, could you settle down for a minute?' Professor Weasley's voice called. The majority of people hushed immediately and the others trailed off. 'Thanks. Even with the warning last night, a student has entered the Forbidden Forest and has not been recovered. Please,' she stressed, 'Do not go into the woods unless you are accompanied by a Professor.' She eyes each table. 'This is not a game. Schedules will be handed out after breakfast.' She clapped her hands and food appeared. As they all started eating, Avila and Elgin kept their ears open, but heard no interesting rumors concerning the Forbidden Forest.

After everyone had finished eating, Heads of Houses got up and went to their respective tables. A tall woman with blonde hair walked to the front of the Slytherins' table.

'Schedules well be handed out by year for the first three, then individuals based on your grades and teachers' preferences for you.' She paused, letting her words sink in. 'First years?' She was looking at Avila and Elgin.

'Yes, ma'am?' Elgin answered. The two stood up, stepping up to her. The woman eyed them. Avila stood up straighter and her pure blood training kicked in. Without realizing it, her chin raised minutely and he left eyebrow disappeared into her brown bangs. The professor seemed to be pleased with what she saw.

'Avila and Elgin?' They nodded. 'Well, at least they won't forget your names. No matter, I have your schedules. I am Professor Lomina, your Head of House. You will be sharing each of your classes with one of the other houses.' A dainty snort, 'It promotes unity. Here.' She handed them their schedules, then said, 'Second years?' as she moved down the table. Avila and Elgin unfolded the paper and read their schedule, starting with today's.
