It All Started With Lou

Secrets

I pull away from the kiss. I'm not ready to take this leap.
"I--I--I--" I try to make out but fail.
"I know. You're not ready. And that's okay with me. I'll wait for you. No matter how long that takes, I'll be right by your side."
I look into his eyes and smile at him. "I love you, Niall, you know that?"
He blushes and says, "Yeah, I do. And I love you too. I hope you know that."
"I know that too," I chuckle.
We're both laying on our sides gazing into each other's eyes and smiling. I really love him. I love him with all my heart even though we've only been together a day.

*Niall's POV*
Oh gosh, I love her. I can't fathom a life without her. Note to self: thank Lou for everything she's done.
I look at Skyler in her blue-gold eyes. I love the way the gold dances around her pupils and the blue swallows most of it up. A smile spreads across her face. I mirror her actions. For some reason, just looking her in the eyes makes my heart skip a beat. We're both radiating immense infatuation for one another, until Skyler's eyes seem to droop in the corners and her smile starts to fall. Her breathing slows and her eyes fight to stay open. Eventually, her eyes surrender and she's asleep.
The mask that she wears everyday comes off and her features soften even more. She almost looks sad, maybe even depressed. It's concerning me, so I decide to text Lou. Since they are best friends, she must know something.

Hey Lou!

•Lou•
Hey Ni! What's up? Shouldn't you be sleeping??

-Niall-
Yeah, I guess I should be, but I'm not tired. Sky is asleep tho. Looking at her, she seems a little sad, maybe even depressed and I was wondering if you knew anything?

•Lou•
Ah, I know what you're saying. But, sadly, I don't know anything. :/

-Niall-
Dang. I thought you would coz you guys are besties.

•Lou•
We are. But I haven't seen her much more than you have. And I feel like I should ask her about it in person. So, I guess I'll ask her tomorrow :/

Ah, okay. Thanks, Lou.

•Lou•
No problem. Well, I'm going to bed. Night.

Night.

I lock my phone and decide to attempt to sleep. I snuggle up against Skyler and close my eyes. If she's able to sleep, then I should be able to too.
I feel my breathing slow and know that sleep is on it's way. One last breath and I'm transported into a dream.
