A/N Sorry for disappearing for a while. By hey I'm back now and I think this is the longest thing I've ever written on my own. Seriously who decided it would be a good idea for me to write a 1,000 word long oneshot at midnight. Also, all of this takes place after "Through the Looking Glass Ruins" and I know there have been some rumors of it getting leaked but if it actually did I haven't watched it and this is completely spoiler-free for that episode.

Luz and Amity had just returned from the library, trying to find more information on the mysterious human who came before Luz and how they got to the Boiling Isles. They ended up finding something and went up to Luz's room to try and figure out how to get Luz home and talk about some other stuff like their theories for The Good Witch Azura book six.

After a bit, they couldn't think of any more ways to get Luz home, and they had both shared all of their theories when Amity broke the silence by asking Luz, "Hey Luz, what's your mom like?"

"She's super nice," Luz responded. "But, she works a lot, so I don't always get to see her that much. When she is home, we make sure to have tons of fun together, though. We would watch movies together, eat ice cream, go on trips-she loves camping-and do a bunch of other stuff."

Amity smiled, imagining her having that kind of relationship with her mom, "She sounds like a great person. Has she been here before? Did she let you stay with Eda for a bit?"

"Not exactly," Luz answered, thinking of the fact that her mom thought she was at a summer camp for three months instead of in another dimension. "I got in trouble a lot at school because of my, well everything. So, Mom had to send me to a summer camp so I would be less trouble. It was this place where they would make us normal. Mamí told me that my 'fantasy world' was holding me back. When I was waiting for the bus to come to pick me up, Owlbert stole my book, so I chased him to get it back and ended up here. I decided to stay here and be Eda's apprentice instead of going home." By now, Luz was crying, thinking about how different everything would be if she had just gone to summer camp like Camila wanted her to. "Maybe I should have gone to summer camp. Then Eda wouldn't have almost gotten petrified or lost half of her magic. Then Lilith wouldn't be a traitor for abandoning the Emperor's Coven. Then Mom wouldn't be home wondering if I'm even still alive. Then I would be . . . normal. What if she's mad? What if she's upset that I ran away? What if she realizes that her life was better when I wasn't there?" Worries filled Luz as she noticed how horrible her plan was. She started to think that she caused trouble wherever she went, so it was better to not return home.

Amity hugged Luz, "Luz, listen to me. I'm sure that's not true. I know you think that you make everyone's lives horrible, but you make them a million times better. Eda's no longer a selfish criminal who only thinks of herself, King is starting to figure out where he really came from, Willow has more confidence than I've ever seen her have, Gus is finally stepping out of his shell and talking to more people and trying new things, and me, I never even made decisions for myself. I always just listened to what my parents or Bosha told me to do. But you, Luz, changed everything. Now I'm here with you. You are an amazing person. You always go out of your way to help others. You almost died to get Willow and Gus back into Hexside and pushed me to stand up to my parents. I'm sure your mom is going to be completely overjoyed when you go back to the human realm."

Meanwhile, in the human realm

Camila and "Luz" were out eating ice cream when "Luz" got a text on her phone. Camila had to get her a new one because "Luz" said that near the end of camp, one of the people in her cabin accidentally broke hers, which is why she suddenly stopped replying to Camila's calls and texts.

"Who are you talking to, mija?" Camila asked.

"Just a friend from camp," "Luz" responded.

"Have you made any new friends at school?" Camila asked. School started earlier that month, and "Luz" was going until she no longer needed to keep up the charade.

"I've been trying, but everyone keeps on expecting the old Luz to come back. But I'm not the same weirdo who whenever she wasn't in the principal's office had her nose stuck in The Good Witch Azura." "Luz" told Camila.

"You know, it's okay to be a little weird. I just wanted you to make some friends and stop getting sent to the principal's office. The next Azura book should be coming out soon. Do you want me to get it for you?"

"Thanks, Mom, but I'm not that Luz anymore. I don't like things like that," "Luz" explained to Camila.

"Well . . . as long as you're happy with who you are," Camila looked at the time on her phone. "We should probably head home now. I have to work the night shift, and don't you have a Geometry test to study for?"

They went home, and Camila thought about their interaction as she got ready for work. No matter what "Luz" said, she couldn't imagine her daughter acting like that. She didn't even want the next book in The Good Witch Azura series! Luz has been obsessed with those books ever since she learned how to read! How is it possible that she changed so much after only three months? It wasn't just that she was trying to be "normal," it was almost as if she didn't know anything. When she first got back, it seemed like she had to completely relearn what Camila was like. Even now, something about her seemed off. Camila brushed that thought aside. After all, she was still Camila's daughter, and Camila will always love her, no matter what.

After Camila finished getting ready she went to go say goodbye to "Luz," "Mija, I'm going to work now. Don't stay up all night reading and/or writing fanfiction."

"Luz" looked up from her Geometry textbook, "Mom, I'm not going to do either of those things. I'm just going to study and go to bed."

"Right, sorry," Camila said, trying to find the real Luz inside of the girl sitting in front of her. "Anyway, I should be back before you wake up, but if not, there are some leftover pancakes in the kitchen for breakfast. I love you! ¡Adiós, cariño!"

"¡Adiós, Mamá!"

Camila left to go to work while "Luz" looked out the window to the neighborhood she now lived in. Everyone went on doing their daily routine completely unaware that she wasn't who she said she was. She'll admit she did sometimes wonder what happened to the real Luz, but that didn't matter now. What mattered was that she was here in Luz's spot. And if Luz ever did return, she would find everything exactly how she left it. No missing posters, no one trying to find her, nothing at all. And, even if she did someday come back, who would Camila believe? The girl who stayed with her and went to camp as she wanted, or the girl who ran away and lied to Camila about being at camp even though she never planned on going? She was the real Luz now, and whoever used to be would not take that away from her.
