{JD's POV}

The night after Heather's death, I lay in bed skimming through my copy of Dracula, not really taking in the words, focused more on my thoughts. Is she insane like me? I wonder, thinking back to our earlier conversation. "I wonder if we did the right thing," her innocent voice plays over and over in my head. She only worries about other people. Even after the way Heather treated her, she only thinks of the impact on others.

The funeral is tomorrow, and Y/n's going with me. I think we're an item now, but I'm waiting to ask her officially. And a funeral wouldn't be the place.

I sat in the aisle seat at Heather's funeral, next to JD. Afterwards I go to see the other Heathers, who seem abnormally normal after witnessing their best friend's funeral. But then, I suppose I do too.

Heather McNamara starts talking to me about her date with Ram - one of the two biggest airheads in the school - and suddenly she asks me the most obscure question.
"Well he wants to go on a double date with Kurt, but Kurt doesn't have a date see. I was wondering if you'd tag along? As a little favour to me?" She questions, shifting nervously. Kurt was the other biggest airhead in the school. Heather M had always been my favourite Heather, but this was crossing a line.

"Heather, I have a good thing going with JD." I explain, disagreeing. Heather D interjects.
"What, that freak with a gun?" She huffs, rolling her eyes. I roll my eyes back and switch my attention back to Heather M.
"C'mon, Y/n, it'll really be helping me out." She pleads and I sigh in resignation.
"Alright, but if he tries anything, I'm leaving." I state simply and she smiles, pulling me into a grateful hug.

The date was awful

The date was awful. I tried to tell JD about it, but he rode off on his motorbike as soon as the funeral ended.

After the double date, I'm left with a drunk Kurt trying to woo me while Heather and Ram make sweet love in a cow paddock. I find myself covered in mud and indignation, climbing up a hill, when I see an ominous figure leaning against a bike on the side of the road.
