Music played in the background as the darker man stood in the corner. His close friend, Patton, had hosted a masquerade and Virgil had been invited. Originally, he wasn't going to come. Of course he wouldn't, there would be too much people. But when he heard that he would be there, ohoho, he was definitely going. The hall was busy, and loud. "God dammit.. He's not even here." Virgil muttered to his myself beneath his breath as he glanced around the hall. He could feel himself tearing up, but why? Was this disappointment? Or was he just overwhelmed with all the people? Even he didn't know. He stared down at the floor, rubbing his eyes in order to stop the crying. Patton wasn't even around to help. Sighing, he began taking off his masquerade mask before he was interrupted by an unfamiliar voice.
"Uh, sir? Are you.. are you alright?"
Virgil looked up, staring at the slightly taller man. "Oh, uh, yeah. I'm fine." He said, giving him a weak smile. The other raised an eyebrow, though you wouldn't be able to see it, due to his blue, masquerade mask. "You don't look fine, what's the matter?" There was genuine worry in his tone. "You're a stranger, why should i tell you?" Virgil replied firmly, now irritated that this stranger was bothering him. With a sigh, the stranger spoke again, "My name is Logan Berry, what's your name?" Logan introduced himself, raising his hand and doing a mini two finger salute. "Oh uh.. I- I'm Virgil Storm. But i'm still not telling you what's wrong!" He yelled, crossing his arms. Logan held in a chuckle at the smaller man's behaviour. It was honestly cute. Wait, what? "Well, since i know somethings wrong, and you aren't telling me, would you like to dance? It might make you feel better." The logical man offered, giving Virgil a soft smile. Virgil hesitated for a moment, unsure if he should trust this man. But after a few moments, he agreed, nodding slightly. A bright smile appeared on Logan's face as he took Virgil's hands in his own and led him right to the centre of the dance floor. The taller man's arms carefully snaked around Virgil's waist, slowly incase he made the other uncomfortable. Hesitantly, Virgil wrapped his arms around Logan's neck, a soft smile appearing on his face. After that, the two began slowly swaying to the music. They were both at peace, happily dancing with eachother.
Hours went by, and the two had spent most of their time there together. But it soon came to an end, the party was ending and everyone began leaving. "Hey, uh.. I know this is weird but.. I was wondering if we could maybe.. do this sort of thing again?.." Virgil asked as they both looked out at the outstanding view from the balcony. The stars were shining beautifully. "Meet eachother at a masquerade party and slow dance for hours?..." Logan said, which Virgil couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic or actually confused. "No.. yes.. Sorta? I just wanted to maybe see you again. You seem.. really, really nice." The darker man admitted, biting his lip nervously. "Oh, i'd love to. Maybe we could do it without these dumb masks?.." Virgil nodded, smiling up at Logan. "I should actually get going now, it's quite late. Goodbye, Virgil." Logan sighed out, sounding slightly disappointed that he was leaving. But it was late, so it made sense. "Oh, uh, goodbye." Virgil responded, slightly sad. As they said their finally goodbyes, Virgil sighed, watching as Logan left. "I hope i get to see him again.." He muttered, smiling. "I just want another dance with you."
