Changbin's POV

Hyunjin, Jisung and I just finished our breakfast and we were just about to leave the cafeteria again when we suddenly heard an announcement.

Attention. All patients are required to go to their own room immediately. I repeat. All patients are required to go to their own room immediately.

I looked at the other two boys, who seemed just as confused as me. But since we were on our way there anyways, we just casually followed the crowd that was now leaving the room. Jisung was the first to reach his room and slowly the crowd in front of us became smaller as more and more reached their room.

But then suddenly a shot was fired causing a lot of chaos. Everyone started screaming and running. I turned around as I saw a couple of guards making their way threw the crowd. As I looked back to the front I noticed other guards already rushing down the stairs. I didn't realize that I froze in my place until Hyunjin pulled me with him. Only seconds later we found ourselves in his room, since it was way closer than mine.

"What's going on??" Hyunjin panicked while he shut the door close. "I don't know" I shoved him to the side and looked through the small window on the door. A couple more shots have been heard, combined with screams of fear but I didn't see anything. Not even a single guard, even tho they were everywhere usually.

"D-do you think.. someone tried to escape?" I looked at the taller boy who was stuttering. "Could be.." I noticed his face getting pale "Don't worry... they must've not planned it long enough.. i-it's not gonna be same for us. I promise we'll make it out alive but we have to be patient, okay?"

Hyunjin remained silent after I said that and just sat down on his bed. I just knew how scared he was. He was scared ever since we first talked about it. It was about three months ago that Hyunjin, Jisung and I started to work on an escape plan. But everytime we looked at it again, we noticed some flaws and had to work it over again. By now we found a solution for our problems but we'd need more people. Some of which would have to sacrifice themselves. But even if our plan happens to be perfect in theory, something could always go wrong. It was just a fine line between a successful escape and a mass suicide commando.

I kept on standing by the door, looking out but therefore I flinched when suddenly a guard appeared in front of me to open the door. He looked back and forth between me and Hyunjin before he just left again, leaving the door open. Again we heard an announcement.

All patients are free to leave their rooms again.

I turned to look at Hyunjin "Let's check on Jisung." The taller immediately got up and the two of us rushed to Jisung's room. We quickly noticed the boy sitting on his bed with his knees to his chest and his arms tightly wrapped around his legs. "Are you okay?" I asked as each of us sat down on his side. Jisung just nodded "W-we need to get out of here" he whispered, his voice was trembling. "We need more people first.." Hyunjin chimed in. "Then let's go to the common rooms and find some!" I could tell Jisung was even more scared than usual by the way his eyes became watery as he got louder. "Please calm down first, we don't want to stand out" I calmly told him while patting his back.

It took him a few minutes but then we went to the common rooms. Even though it would be way more efficient if we split up, we decided to stay together just to make sure no one would accidentally tell too much. We scanned the first room for people that looked like they could be of any help but everyone seemed either way to calm and relaxed or way too scared to actually be part of a breakout so we went into the next room.

All of us immediately noticed a group of boys that kept whispering to themselves. Two of them actually looked quite familiar. They were no other than Bang Chan and Lee Minho. Bang Chan is quite well known amongst the patients since guards would have to make him shut up a lot in the past. Until a few months ago he would never hesitate to call out the doctors for their bullshit treating towards us, no matter how much they'd punish him. Everyone decided to distance themselves from him just because they were scared they'd get the same punishments. But there was one exception: Lee Minho. He always stood by Bang Chan's side, not caring that every time Bang Chan got a punishment, he'd get one as well. Everyone said that Lee Minho's punishments were way milder since he rarely actively did anything but just the fact that he was close to Bang Chan made him recieve punishments.

However a few months ago everything became silent around them. No one knew why but every now and then I heard them whisper to each other how much they hated it here. For sure they'd be the perfect help for us. But I had no clue about the other three boys that were around them. "Let's go talk to them" I told the others and both of them agreed.
