Some Kind of Curse (Hawaii Five-0)

Chapter Nine

Kono manages quite well in the sting operation. Kris is impressed at Kono's ability to stay calm and not break her cover at all during the short op, even when Sang Min gets her to take off her dress and stand in her bra and underwear in front of him and his thugs. When Sang Min began to close in on her and caught a few of her strategic lies, Danny began to sweat in the truck.

"alright, pull the plug. We gotta get her out of there." He said anxiously, then began to stand up from his seat.

Chin put out his arm to stop him and got him to sit back down. "relax, brah. The kid can handle herself. She's got this." Chin said calmly. Danny muttered something under his breath that wasn't the nicest, but Chin thankfully didn't hear it.

"He's gonna kill her, alright?" Danny replies, now a little frustrated at how relaxed Chin appears to be.

"trust me." Chin says sharply, effectively shutting Danny up.

Thankfully, Kono manages to recover from the little slip up that Sang Min caught her on, but Sang Min is now more suspicious of her. Looking for a wire, he gets Kono to take off her dress so he can inspect her himself. Kono quickly complies, making sure to not blow her cover. When Sang Min snaps a picture of Kono in her bra and underwear and sends it off to an unknown number, Kris' heart drops to her stomach, but she makes sure to trace the text right away. Within a minute or so, the recipient of the picture is traced to an HPD precinct.

"fuck." Danny mutters. "that's my precinct. We have a mole." He says to his team, who all look a little bit stunned. They ultimately don't know what to say to Danny, so their silence fills the truck.

Steve, Kris and Chin keep a close eye on Kono, and decide to make their presence known when Sang Min announces to his thugs that Kono is a cop with a simple look. Thankfully, Kono can fend for herself in a fight, and begins to engage Sang Min's thugs in hand-to-hand combat and takes down a few of them on her own.

In the truck, everyone springs to their feet and get out of the back of the truck. Kris runs to the driver's side door, and climbs in with a horrible idea in her mind. She turns on the truck and shifts it into gear, and speeds up towards the building that Kono was in. the truck tears through the wall, hitting a few thugs on the way. Kris slams on the brakes and gets out of the truck once it has stopped completely with her sidearm out. Steve, Chin and Danny are already apprehending some of the thugs, so she makes sure to check on Kono.

"Great job Kono. You alright?" Kris asks quickly to the younger woman.

Kono nods and grins. This just confirms to Kris that Kono will be perfect for the team as soon as she graduates. Kris pats her on the back, then makes her way over to Steve, who is standing in front of Sang Min, seconds away from apprehending him.

"Gun!" Danny shouts, and everyone hits the deck.

Kris is the first to react, and she quickly hits the thug with the gun in the arm, causing him to drop the gun and falls to the floor before he can take a shot at Steve. Danny zip ties his hands behind his back, like he has already for the three other thugs who are lying face down on the floor.

Rapid Gunfire fills the air, as Sang Min re-appears from behind the desk with an automatic gun, spraying the room with bullets.

"stay down!" Kris shouts, hoping that no one gets hit with a bullet during their first ever operation as a team. Steve fires a blind bullet at Sang min while he runs out of the room, still firing off rounds in a frenzy, hoping to stop the cops for as long as he can. Steve's bullet misses and hits the wall.

"anybody hurt?" Steve shouts, asking the team. Everyone quickly responds with a 'good!', which makes both Steve and Kris happy. Steve looks across the room at Kris, who is already making her way over to him to pursue Sang Min.
