"If you could go anywhere, anywhere at all; real or not; where would you go?"
Your friend looked at you quizically.
"Anywhere? No restrictions of any kind?"
"None whatsoever."
"Hmm..."
She had to think about it. Meanwhile, the two of you walked along down the sidewalk of your sleepy little Middle-of-Nowheresville hometown, enjoying the peaceful summer afternoon. Every now and again, a car would drive by, but otherwise, the only sounds that filled the air were the sounds of nature; birds chirping, the wind blowing through the trees, the water rushing in the tiny creek that snaked throughout the tiny town. It's not like you two were going anywhere specific. You just wanted to get out of your house and away from your annoying family for a while.
You are (F/L/N). An unextraordinay girl by every sense of the word. At the age of 23, you were far less accomplished in life than any of your old high schoole peers, you were sure. You had attempted college, twice, but failed to get anywhere either time due to your own personal problems. And while, yes, you were employed, it wasn't the best paying or most stable job in the world. In fact, due to some recent issues with your company of employment, you were barely getting anyhours at all and your bank account showed as much.
Safe to say, you were pretty depressed about your life situation at the moment. It was all your own fault, of course. You knew and aknowedged that much. But that didn't make it any less depressing. But you didn't let that crush your happy-go-lucky attitude. Nothing in the world could quell you hyperactivity, you thought.
"I guess if I had to pick just one place," your friend suddenly spoke up beside you. "I'd have to go with AOT."
"What?!? Bitch, you and Iboth know you wouldn't last a day there."
"But it's be worth it to even just catch a glimpse of Levi."
"Oh honey..."
The two of you laughed between each other, continuing on your way to nowhere.
"So how about you, (Y/N)? Where would you wanna go?"
"BNHA"
"I guess you'd have a better chance of surviving there, wouldn't you?"
"What kind of quirk d'ya think I'd get stuck with?"
"Unending Energy."
"I'm not that hyper!"
Just as your friend was about to shoot back some kind of less-than-witty retort, you screamed, seemingly disappearing into the pavement next to her. She looked down, only to be met with a large hole in the ground, filled with the sight of sky and clouds, and you, plumeting to your death. You screamed at the top of your lungs, but you could barely even hear your own thoughts above the rushing air as you fell. You could see what looked to be buildings coming into view as you fell.
Is this how I die?
You stopped screaming and closed your eyes, accepting your fate that you would die that day.
But the impact ever came. Instead of the cold embrace of death, you felt the warm embrace of... a person?
Slowly, you opened your eyes. Vibrant red wings, irises like warm honey underlined by peculiar markings, and sandy blonde hair filled your vision. You wanted to panic, like you had been before. But as you glanced up and over the man's shoulder, you could see that the hole you'd just fallen though was still open. Slowly, as if moving to fast could break the illusion, you pointed to the hole in the sky. Wordlessly, the man followed your gaze and saw the hole for himself.
"C-could you..." You stuttered, trying to ask if he would take you back to the hole.
Almost as if he knew what you wanted, the man started his ascent in the direction of the hole. Red wings beat aggressivly aginst the increasing altitude as he struggeled to get close enough. Your friend had stuck her hand through the hole when she saw the red blur seemingly colide with your quickly decending form, so you knew that you had every chance to grab it and have her pull you out of this adreniline filled situation.
"Toss me!" You shouted the command to the winged man, who complied as best he could.
But it seemed as if whatever force of the universe had thust you into this was against you in every way as the hole began to close with the intent to devour whatever was caught in its maw. That said, your fingertips just barely grazed those of your friend before she was forced to retract her arm for fear of loosing it to the strange hole. And just like that, you were plumeting again, staring helplessly at where the hole, where your best friend and home, had once been.
Well shit...
