Prologue

"What is the difference between debit and credit? Anyone?" tanong ni Prof.

I raised my hand and stood up.

"Debit increases asset or expense accounts and decreases liability, revenue or equity accounts while Credit is always positioned on the right side of an entry. It increases liability, revenue or equity accounts and decreases asset or expense accounts." I answer.

"Okay, mahusay Ms. Millare. Class Dismissed." sabi ni Prof.

I stood up and took all my things. I went out of the room but while walking someone called me. Lumingon ako at napangiti ako ng makita kung sino ito.

"Liviana!" tawag ni Kelly

Kelly is my best friend since elementary. Siya ang laging nasa tabi ko tuwing inaatake ako ng sakit ko. I have heart disease and she knows it. She's one of the people I trust the most.

"Why? Tapos na klase nyo?" I asked

"Oo, tara sa canteen" she replied and smiled

Tumakbo siya palapit sakin at inakbay niya ang braso nya sakin. Naglakad kami papunta sa cafeteria at kumain.

"Ana, how's your health?" Kels asked. Kelly calls me Ana and I call her Kels

"It's fine" I replied

Habang kumakain kami, I saw a man looking at me but that stare disappeared when someone called him. Hindi ko malaman kung bakit biglang kumirot ang puso ko kanina ng makita ko ang lalaking yon.

"Kels, do you know him?" tanong ko at tinuro ang lalaki na paalis

"Who? Ah si Austin Kai Cabrera, Basketball varsity player din siya katulad ng kuya mo ka team niya ata yan. He's quite famous" sabi niya

"Austin? What year?" I asked

"Third Year, Why? Are you interested in him?" she said while laughing

"What? No! Nahuli ko lang na nakatingin siya sakin kanina kaya natanong ko" sabi ko ng nanliliit ang mata

"Siya nakatingin sayo? He may be interested in you" sabi niya

"Hindi naman siguro. It's just a stare, Come on let's go" sabi ko bago kami tumayo at pumunta sa bawat room namin. We are not in the same class. We were in second-year college, she took Architecture and I took Accountancy.

Natapos ang klase ng walang pumapasok sa isip ko, Nakauwi na ko't lahat di parin mawala sa isip ko iyong Austin na yon at kung bakit biglang kumirot ang puso ko.
