𝔫𝔢𝔴 𝔩𝔦𝔤𝔥𝔱

my eyelids shot open. the bright sun beamed through the seamless thin curtains. my eyes wandered around the room exploring my new surroundings. i suddenly lay my eyes on the only dark spot in the room. she was here, laying her head down resting between her crossed arms on the hospital bed beside me. my heart began to flutter at her sight. was she here all night?

without even noticing a smile appeared on my lips. i reached over to her head and gently placed my hand over her head. my eyes widened a bit seeing a tear just holding onto the corner of her eyelashes. wiping the small tear from her eyes, she began to move a bit.

i flinched back--i feel terrible for waking her up. she lifted her head and rubbed her eyes like a sleepy small child. it was the cutest thing i've ever seen. . .

she looked over to me, adjusting her eyes on me. she blinked a bit before her eyes widened.

"m-me-megumi!?" she jolted from the chair she slept on.

how does she have this much energy? she literally just woke up.

"oh my god! are you okay? how do you feel? are you still hurting? do you need food? are you hungry? or maybe you need to go to the bathroom! holy crap you probably have to take a huge shit! uh should i call someone? or can you walk? no wait the nurse said you can't you have to be in bed--crap I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!?" she made herself have a panic attack.

in the meanwhile i pressed the little red button that the remote on my other hand had to let someone know i needed something. within a couple seconds a female nurse rushed in.

"is everything--oh! you're awake thank goodness," she chirped. "how do you feel today?" she asked.

"a lot better thank you. may i use the bathroom?" i asked.

"you may. do you need assistance?" she asked.

"i'll help! right. . .?" keiko blabbed.

"uh, sure?" this was so awkward.

she eagerly helped me off the bed and placed my arm around her shoulders for support. she walked me to the small bathroom that was part of the room i was in. she opened the door and pushed forward but i had stopped. she looked up at me with a confusing look and realized.

"right, sorry. go ahead" she blushed awkwardly.

the heat returned to my cheeks. this was definitely embarrassing.

suddenly the door opened. yuuji walked in with balloons and coffee cups. he shoved the stuff over to the nurse and ran to me.

"megumi! you're awake!" his voice cracked in happiness.

"yeah i'm awake" i stated the obvious.

he embraced me and sighed. some of my injuries began hurting again but i silently held it in. he was just happy to see me.

"sir, please don't hug him he's healing!!" the nurse shouted at yuuji.

"sorry! are you okay? are you hungry? did you eat something? does anything still hurt? oh you're going to the bathroom--OH DAMN YOU GOTTA TAKE A SHIT--"

"yuuji! shut up i'm fine! and yes! i have to shit so let me!"

the room had gone silent. i widened my eyes and realized how stupid he made me sound. i should of just let him rant like keiko.

i was let go to the bathroom and didn't come out until 20 minutes later. i washed my hands and peered out the door, seeing yuuji and keiko patiently waiting for me. i sighed and opened the door.
