Mitch's P.O.V:

I waited outside the nurses office. Inside was Jerome, our nurse, mrs.slender, was taking care of him. I didn't know why I cared so much, I only just met the guy, but I had to make sure he was ok. Suddenly I saw Jerome step out and I went up to him. "Hey, are you ok?" I asked worriedly. "Uh, yeah, I just won't be able to swim for a long time, heheh..." Jerome said smiling a little. "thanks for...saving me by the way, mitch..." He said and I blushed lightly. "Ah it was nothing, I helped a friend that's all..." I smiled and Jerome reached over and hugged me. "No really...thank you..." I blushed even more. After what seemed like hours he let go. "Nurse says I can go home early to make sure the shock has fully gone, wanna come with me?" He asked. "Like...ditching?" "nah, she said you too you know, just in case" "oh well...ok" I said and I found myself following him out of school and into a neighborhood that wasn't my own.

As I walked he babbled on about a story of him and his friends getting in trouble for almost dying somewhere. "Haha! Yeah, so what about you Mitch? Ever done something bad?" He asked turning to me as we stopped. I was too busy looking at the strange houses made of nothing but jungle wood and leaves and vines. "Huh? Oh um..." I thought rapidly and sighed. "I didn't hear you Jerome." "Ah it's ok! Hey. We're here anyways...see?" He pointed at a two story house made of jungle wood, the roof was made of sticks woven with vines. We walked up to the portch, Jerome invited me inside and he yelled something with a sort of growl to it, animal like, then he led me out to his backyard. It had a pool filled with green water with lily pads and slime and moss, I looked over and saw a treehouse. "Come on!" Jerome waved and started climbing a ladder to the top and I followed, once we got to the top we practically collapsed on the floor.
"This is pretty cool!" I said smiling. "Heh, thanks. I try." he smiled back. We laid there in silence not moving. I jumped when Jerome spoke. "Hey! Let's play a game!" "Like what? Swing from vines?" "No silly mitchie! Like, truth or dare or something!" He smiled. Did he just call me 'mitchie'?
