The Day(A Tawog Story)

Chapter 1 - An unforgotten day

[Elmore]
[5 years in the future]
[Penny's POV]

I had another nightmare again, it's been a while since I've had a good night's sleep, actually... [Penny gets out of her bed and opens the window in her bedroom] I think every Elmore hasn't been getting a good sleep... since ... [Suddenly gets a terrified reaction] ... NO! NO! just like everyone else in this town... I don't want to relive that day! m-my nightmares insist on taking me to this day... ...no matter what I do!I...I... [she starts to cry in panic but hears her father scream in the kitchen]

Patrick: Penny! Get down soon or you'll be late! Breakfast is on the table!

Penny:[wipes with tears and composes herself] I-I'm coming! [Penny goes down the stairs, goes into the kitchen and sits in the chair]

[As the Fitzgeralds eat, the mood in the air is tense...] [Penny's relationship with her parents seems to have gotten worse, Penny, while eating, can't make direct eye contact with her parents, it's been that way since that day, none of the family members dare comment on that day, in fact, no one in Elmore dares to comment on... It seems that the mysterious day really messed with the minds of many, especially Penny's!]

[Penny finishes eating, brushes her teeth, packs her backpack, leaves the house and goes to school] [Towards Elmore Junior High, Penny walks thoughtfully, still with a tired and annoyed face, she then takes the school bus, she gets on the bus and sees her classmates who, upon noticing her, shift their gaze to the window quickly, a little nervously. It's been that way for Penny since that day, her classmates refuse to talk to her or look her in the eye like they're scared of her, but she knows they're not scared of her, they're scared to accidentally comment about the day for her...]

[Penny then sits on the bus next to Carrie, who is by the window] [They then exchange glances but turn to the opposite side quickly. Penny unfortunately didn't have another corner to sit, Carrie's side was the only one available, and she's not feeling comfortable around her, same goes for Carrie]
[All Penny needs now is a friend...but everyone is so far away from her now, it hurts so much, now it seems like she can't count on anyone else...]

[Penny then notices the bus going straight past the Wattersons' house]

[Penny then realizes she hasn't seen Darwin and Anais in a long time, they haven't taken the bus, and probably haven't even gone to school, she was thinking about her so much and didn't even realize that right now someone is probably going through a worse situation than her... HIS FAMILY!]

[She then decides to go visit them after school, she hasn't visited them since... well heh]
