Chapter 7:

Kat’s POV

We were standing at Stagg industries, waiting for him to give his speech after he got his big reward.

“I find it quite remarkable, having once being a timid freshman at Central City University to be standing before you now. The regent’s choice for man of the year while I very much appreciate the award. The real honour for me is knowing that my work in organ transference, helps give people a second chance at life.  Thank you all very much for coming,” Just as Mr Stagg had finished his speech the crowd erupted into cheers for the man.

“Okay,” I said as the three of us turned around. (Barry, Iris and I)

“First things first,” Barry said as we continued to walk together slowly. “Simon Stagg’s work in cellular cloning has led to huge advancements in future organ replacement,”

Iris then grabbed three champagne glasses.

“Are journalists allowed to drink on the job?” She asked as Barry took two of the glasses but I kept one for myself.

“Okay. If you are bored already, just wait till we get to the science behind Cellular regeneration,” I said taking a sip of my champagne.

Barry and Iris both laughed slightly at me and Iris linked all our arms together.

“I missed this, the three of us. I feel like we haven’t spent any quality time together, since you woke up from the coma,” she said the ending part to Barry then turned to me. “Or since you got to Central City,”

“Yeah, I’ve had a crazy few weeks, I know,” Barry answered.

“Two jobs,” is all I said.

“I thought maybe you’d been avoiding me because of Eddie. I know you both think it’s wrong me dating my dad’s partner, and I just,” Iris started and I rolled my eyes.

“No,” Barry and I both said at the same time.

“That is not it. At all,” Barry said and I nodded agreeing with him.

Then Iris started to kind of jump and say ‘Oh, Oh’.

“Mr Stagg. I was wondering if I could get a quote from you for my article,” Iris said as she walked passed Barry and I.

“Not now miss,” His body guard said, as Barry and I walked beside Iris.

“I’ll just make something up,” Iris said as both Barry and I laughed slightly.

“So… What were you gonna tell me? You like you were about to tell me something,” Iris said turning to Barry as did I.

“Yeah-,” He said just as a gunshots went off.

“Quiet down all of you,” A man in an all-black outfit said as he and a bunch of other men. 

I had already dropped my glass as I grabbed onto Barry’s arm as Iris grabbed the other.

“Oh, My, God,” Iris said as the three of us went down to the ground.

“How considerate you’re all wearing your finest jewellery! Almost like you knew we were coming to rob you!,” The man in black said I could tell Barry wanted to do something but I also knew he couldn’t right now because he wasn’t in his suit.

“Now everybody line up,” The man said and I instantly grabbed my necklace.

“Beautiful necklace blondie thank you for the support,” one of the men said as he took my necklace off my neck.
