Janine POV:
Today is Y/N's first game with our team. We play against the USA. Coach said she's gonna start Y/N. I'm a little nervous since I'm super close with her and I don't want her to get hurt. The USA likes the tackle a lot. I look and see Vlatko has put out his starting lineup for the game later. I smile as I see Tierna in the starting lineup. T and I have gotten super close over these past few months. She's come and watched me play for Man City. I decided to give her a call.
"Hey J! What's up?" She starts off.
"Hey T! Congrats on getting in the starting lineup." I reply.
"Thanks. I heard Y/N is starting too. Is that right?"
"Yeah she is. I'm super nervous though. I don't want her to get hurt." I sigh.
"It's okay J. She'll be fine. She's played in tough games before." She tells me. I can tell she's smiling. I kind of grin knowing she's right. I'm glad Tierna can calm me down when I need her too.
"Thanks T. I'll see you tonight, alrighty?" I say.
"See ya love." She replies. I hang up and go to Y/N's room.
Y/N POV:
I'm scrolling through Instagram when I hear a knock at the door. I go to the door and open it to see Janine standing there.
"Janine!" I yell hugging her.
"Hey Y/N/N! May I come in?" I nod and she walk in and sits on the edge of my bed.
"Everything alright?" I ask. She nods.
"Yeah. I just wanted to let you know that you're starting later." I smile and Janine grins when she sees it.
"Thanks J!" I say.
"Come down for the meeting in about 30 minutes." She tells me. I nod and she walks out. I was so excited I was starting. I scrolled for about 25 more minutes before heading down for the meeting.
*Fast forward to the incident*
Tierna POV:
I was going for the ball at the same time Y/N was and I slid into her instead of the ball.
"Shit." I mumbled. I immediately checked on her. Knocked out cold.
"Fuck fuck fuck." I say crying as I walk over to Lyss.
"It's okay T. It was an accident." She tells me.
"Janine told me not to hurt her, and I did. She probably hates me now." I say and Alyssa rubs my back.
"She doesn't hate you T. It was an accident. It happens." She tells me calming me down.
"Mhm." I tell her and walk back over to Y/N.
Janine POV:
I see Tierna and Y/N collide as Y/N hits the ground hard. I see Tierna get up, and look terrified.
"Fuck." I say. I see Tierna look my way and I notice she's crying. She turns around and walks toward Alyssa before I can tell her its okay. Jordyn walks over to me.
"Dude, Tierna looks upset." She tells me.
"I know. She thinks I'm mad at her because I told her not to hurt Y/N and she did. But I meant purposely, that was just a defensive tackle. I should've been more specific." I say. She hugs me. I see Tierna walk back over to Y/N and hold her hand. She feels so bad. Poor girl.
Y/N POV:
I'm going for a ball when suddenly I'm tackled. I hit the ground and black out. I hear noise, but it's a blur. I notice people crowding around me. Suddenly there's a hand intertwined with mine. I sort of smile.
"I'm sorry Y/N. I didn't mean too." I hear. I recognize the voice right away.
"It's okay." I mumble out. I sit up and automatically get dizzy. I lay back down, and get carried off by the stretcher. It ended up being a concussion but I felt better after about 3 weeks. Tierna and I have started dating, and her and Janine were extra cautious of me for the 3 weeks. I hated the concussion, but it did make me meet the love of my life and I couldn't be happier.
A/N: Sorry this is kind of unorganized! I had a whole story in mind but it would be too long so I had to skip a lot of stuff. I hope you still enjoyed it though! Let me know any suggestions you have.
