They were all laughing at how cute Bambi was until they came to a fallen tree that was in their way.
Bambi stopped and looked around in confusion.
"Come on! You can do it! Hop over it! Like this"!
Thumper and his siblings hopped over it to show Bambi.
Bambi smiled excitedly and the young prince backed away, shaking his butt as he prepared to jump.
The bunnies laughed as they got out of the way.
But Bambi didn't hop over it.
He landed on his stomach.

"You didn't hop far enough".
Thumper told him, shaking his head left and right.
Bambi tried lifting up one leg over the log and he did it successfully.
"That's it! Now the other one".
Thumper encouraged his friend.
The fawn lifted his other leg over, but upon doing that, he ended up getting his hind legs all tangled up.
Bambi tried to keep his balance and as the bunnies hopped away, he ended up falling down again.
Right on top of Thumper.
The little gray bunny wiggled his way out from underneath Bambi's bottom.
"Gee wiz, what happened that time"?
A flock of blue birds chirping happily in a nearby tree while they ate some freshly grown berries.
Bambi looked up at them in confusion
"Those are birds".
Thumper explained to the young prince.
"Bir...Bir"!
Bambi mumbled out loud.
"Look! He's trying to talk"!
Thumper told his sisters.
"Bir"!
Bambi said again.
"He's trying to say bird"!
One of the other bunnies said.
Thumper hopped up onto a ledge and tried to teach Bambi how to talk.
"Say bird"!
He said to the fawn, twitching his nose.
"Bir..."
Bambi repeated, doing the same.
"Bir-d".
Thumper corrected.
"Bir"!
Bambi shouted.
"Uh uh".
Thumper shook his head.
"Bir-duh"!
The blue birds flew around Bambi while chirping.
"Come on, say bird! Say bird"!
"Say bird! Say bird"!
"Come on, say bird! Say Bird"!
The bunnies cheered him on.
Bambi took one breath and shouted:
"BIRD"!
All the blue birds flew away with a startle, while Thumper and his sisters fell backwards.
Then, they all laughed.
Bambi smiled with joy.
"He talked! He talked"!
"He talked momma"!
"The young prince said bird"!
The bunnies hopped excitedly to their mother, Mrs. Hare, who was standing nearby along with Bambi's mother.
