My stomach churns and acid burns and my lungs seize up. I thought about this happening, but never wanted it to happen. No one ever wants this to happen to their friend. And when it actually happens... the emotions are indescribable. I feel numb, and my body feels like dead weight drifting across the floor. It feels as if my soul is being ripped from within me. I feel hopeless, depressed and empty.
I fall to the floor beside Azar. His eyes are squinting, just giving him enough sight to see my face.
"Hey Azar." I say quietly and soothingly, trying to calm him down.
"Hey Myra." He breathes out gently, his chest heaves up and down unevenly. His hands are shaking and his eyes are just staring at me. He's in shock. I can try and save him, calm his body down. Most people don't die from the bullet but from the shock. Shock is the main killer.
"I can save you." I say gently and place my hand on his chin as if you were touching your lovers face.
"Look at me," I say tilting his head slightly to look at me, "calm yourself. Breathe evenly, it will hurt, but believe me the bullet wound won't kill you. The shock will."
"Think of something from your childhood, something that soothes you. Something that you can't help but smile and feel at home when you think of it. A person, a dog or an object. It doesn't matter what, as long as it soothes you."
"Softcot." He whispers and allows his eyes to close.
Softcot?"Teddy bear." He answers my unasked question.
"Aw cute. No close your eyes and calm yourself, feel at home." I look behind me and find Chase running in with officers to search everything and one medic. The noise is to loud. I stand up straight and place my finger up to my pursed lips. I focus my voice into everyone's mind.
'Don't disrupt him.'
Everyone looks at me confused and scared in that way when you have no idea what's going on.
But they nod to show that they understand. Some of these people are not from blink... They're from the other senses.
Our group leads, but each group has its own leaders. Just that ours have more experience and are better."Azar, can you hear me?" I ask placing my mouth new his ear. I lift my face over his and feel his breath even and healthy.
He's okay.
Okay. Not great. Not healthy.
Just Okay.My body is so close to his I can feel every single little muscle movement. I can hear his breath. I can see every detail of his handsome face. If he doesn't make it, I don't know what will happen, what the others will say or do.
Before I know it my tears are pouring down my face and landing on Azar.
(A/N Cliché bit coming up)
They land on his body with a soft splash and ever so slowly blood returns to his face, soon it's no longer pale. I place my hand on Azar and look at him... heal? Breath seizes itself and I can't breathe as he sits up, perfectly fine.
"Thank god for your bloody healing tears." We laugh in sync and he wraps me in a big hug. I open my eyes over his shoulder and see Chase sitting on the floor in the corner and huddling himself. Azar gets up and thanks me while following a medic to the hospital wing. I stare at Chase. He must feel so guilty.
"Chase." I say as I sit down beside him. He glances and looks at me for a few long seconds. The next thing I know his lips are on mine, passionate and fierce. Our mouths move in perfect sync, he wraps his right arm around my waist and then uses his other arm to pull me into his lap. I place one arm around his neck and my other hand running through his hair.
I love him.
I break the kiss as look him in the eyes, his eyes are full of happiness yet loneliness.
"Myra... You... I... You're beautiful. Ever since I met you in Disney Land I knew I would always see you. I would make sure I always saw you. Because then, at that moment I knew that I loved you. And I never believed in love at first site, but ever since that moment. It's just so truthful... It exists Myra Jade Arrow. And I know you may not be happy with me, but I love you Myra.
I love you." He says before softly kissing my lips. I'm speechless because having a boy, open their hearts and seem so vulnerable yet protective over someone... I thought would never happen. The words stumble out before I could say anything."I love you too more than I ever knew was capable." I seal it all with a passionate short kiss on the lips.
"Thank god." He says.
"What?" I ask confused.
"I seriously thought you were gonna slap me and leave me heartbroken." He laughs gently.
"Don't fear the worse, and plus. That would be the most epic love story ever! That hardly ever happens!" I say a bit to excited. He laughs and pecks my forehead. I giggle at the cuteness of that move. He then pecks my nose, then my mouth.
"Come on, we should probably see the others." Chase says and if I'm correct a bit of disappointment was hinted. I don't blame him, I could live in that moment for one hundred infinities if I could.
"Kay." I say as he lifts me out of his lap at ease and then stands up, he offers me his hand and I take it. He hauls me off the ground and I smile, he intertwines our fingers together.
A small soft giggle comes out of my mouth, he looks down at me questionably.
"What?" He asks smirking, I bite my lip.
"I can't believe that just happened after our friend was shot. I mean, that was traumatising we nearly lost him." I say smiling sadly.
"Hey, don't think like that, beautiful. He's here now and you know what?" He pauses. "He's not going to leave us anytime soon, no one is." He lets go of my hand and wraps his arm around my waist pulling me close to his body. I rest my head in his chest. He's at least a few inches taller then me.
"But it's quite funny isn't it?" I ask him, he looks down to me his face smiling trying to hold in a laugh.
"It is." He laughs.
"But, it was the happiest moment of my life. And nothing could be better than that, nothing. Because Myra Jade Arrow, I love you, all of you." He says placing a kiss on my head.
"Chase?"
"Yeah?"
"I love you."
"Love you too."
The rest of the walk was silence, no one needed to say anything and it was just him and I. His hand never left my waist. We stop in front of a door, we definitely know it's them because of the loud noises and familiar voices. I can hear Zita, Niles and Charles giggling while everyone's arguing.
"Never felt so happy to hear your voices." I say as I walk through the door Chase following close behind. The room is deserted literally nothing but dull black walls and a black ceiling. It looks like it could hold a bomb attack... A bomb...
"Guys! Shut up sit down! Close the door and lock it securely don't let any looseness! Gas masks will be here soon, around right here!" I point to the rectangular looking tile that looks loose.
"Why?"
"Be-" An alarm cuts me off and you can't hear a single thing anyone's saying then a voice comes out over the speakers.
"Stay in your rooms no one come out! Stay in! Use gas masks and hold weapons near you at all times! People are not who they say they are! Stay aware!" The ladies voice that comes I've r the intercoms is shrill, commanding and scared. Our masks appear out of where I predicted I don't know how, maybe some high tech device? Everyone is given one gun and food ration packs have been provided.
We were ready in just enough time.
A low grumbling noise then an ear piercing 'thump'. Then the screams of the scared and maybe dead.
I look around, who will make it? Who won't?
Will anyone?
