Bad Day

Will:

For once Will had a hard day. An unconscious camper was carried into the infirmary today by Percy with Annabeth close behind. The camper was in critical condition with almost all of their ribs broken, a large gash just above their forehead, and a fatal amount of blood loss. He wasn't able to save them. Will was the best of his siblings with healthcare and being able to heal any injury and save anyone. So when he couldn't, he took it harder than anyone else.

There were also several other minor annoyances throughout the day that didn't amount to losing the camper's life but it didn't make his day any better. About an hour before dinner one of his siblings caught him crying on his break and volunteered to cover for him. He was slightly embarrassed to have been seen crying but thanked his sibling and exited the infirmary. He immediately went to his boyfriend's cabin.

Nico was in his cabin as Will expected. He walked in and barely remembered to shut the door. Will turned towards Nico but didn't make eye contact as he started to vent about his day. When he got to the subject of the camper that Percy brought into the infirmary his voice started to break but he kept rambling. He continued to talk and barely noticed when Nico said "I have to go" to Reyna. Nico stood up and walked over to him while he kept talking. He wrapped his arms around Will's waist which caught him off guard and he stopped talking for a second.

Nico released him from his grasp but didn't move away as he brushed tears off Will's cheek. He hadn't even realized that he was crying. Will felt a sob build in his throat as he started to cry harder and harder as he leaned his head into Nico's hands. Nico gripped his hand as he turned around slightly. He dragged Will to his bed and tapped the mattress next to him, gesturing for him to sit down next to him.

"Take a deep breath and talk to me" Nico said calmly. Will took a shaky breath but couldn't get words out in between his sobs so he just cried into Nico's shoulder.

Nico:

When Will came into Nico's cabin, he was taken by surprise. Nico had been talking to Reyna through an Iris Message when Will opened the door and started rambling. He was talking so fast that Nico couldn't understand him very well but he could recognize that Will was not ok. Will wouldn't meet his eyes but Nico could tell from his voice and his red, puffy eyes that he'd been crying. He told Reyna he had to go and swiped away the Iris Message.

Nico tried his best to comfort his boyfriend but after a few minutes all he was able to do was get him sitting on his bed and crying even harder. After a little while Nico had managed to get them both repositioned on the bed so Nico was partially sitting up with his pillow vertical against his shoulder blades and head. Will's head was resting on Nico's chest.

After almost an hour it was dinnertime but Will was barely doing better and Nico wasn't that hungry anyways. So he stayed and comforted his boyfriend. Slowly, Will's sobs came slower and he stopped shaking so much until he was sleeping peacefully on top of Nico. His face was tear stained and Nico's shirt was wet and a little sticky from Will's snot but he didn't care.

Will:

Will woke up in a daze. He was confused and freaked out for a moment because he realized he wasn't in his cabin but somewhere else. He soon came to his senses and took notice of his surroundings, discovering that he was laying on Nico in his cabin. He recalled what had happened when he came in here after yesterday. Or at least he thought that that had been yesterday, but of course he didn't know how long he'd been asleep. He shifted his gaze to the window and it was pitch black outside so he looked at the clock on Nico's nightstand and it read "2:36 AM".

Will realized that Nico was asleep so he tried to fall back asleep. He knew the rules against sleeping in a cabin that wasn't your own but at that moment he didn't care. All that mattered was that he was with his boyfriend. Will whispered under his breath to Nico, "I love you". And with that, he fell asleep knowing that he was ok.
