the Duet

He walks down the street,

Guitar in hand.

Not lost,

Just wandering.

Waiting for the girl

With the long brown hair.

He sits on the curb.

Playing a lonely chord.

“Room for me?”

The girl asks.

His eyes light up as he realizes,

She hadn’t left him.

And as the day turned to dusk,

The two kids sang,

Their voices wove together.

Making beautiful melodies,

Attracting the attention of every passerby.

And even ‘till today,

Their duet still plays.
