[Kinda a shitty chapter but I felt bad I made you all wait so long so I hope this is okay?]
"You again." His voice laid low as his eyes traveled the thick fog, searching for the body of the glowing eyes that glared at him.
"You look ravishing tonight, Kyoujurou."
"I'd wish the sun raised a little quicker, pest."
"Aww, too bad you must deal with me a little while longer." The demon laughed through his teeth, his form finally showing through the fog. "I hope you didnt come to stare, I have quite the job to be doing!"
Kyoujurou narrowed his eyes, placing his hand on his swords handle, staring the demon directly in the eyes. Hed never make such a fool out of himself again by standing there and looking at the beast in front of him.
"How cute."
Their fight began, quick movements and feet shuffling, blade swinging fairy fast while arms dodge and sent attacks back. Things Rengoku had gotten used to while being a demon slayer always seemed to make him want to smile during fights. He was happy during them, but this fight in particular, made him want to just kill and get it over with.
Their breathing not all synchronized, feet and shoes digging up dirt as they jumped from place to place.
"Kyoujurou, you will die here, dont you know? Dont you fear the death that awaits you?"
"You're uncertain if I'll die or not, the panic in your movements tells me it all."
Akaza scoffed before picking up his movements, he would make sure he won. He used his demon art within seconds, prompting hed get a closer chance at winning.
His heart ached slightly for the human, wanting nothing more than to befriend him and care for him without worrying about a demon coming to kill him or having someone even kill Akaza himself.
They both continued to fight, many close calls happened between them both. Many times did Akaza fear that very sword, that grazed his arms continuously, would end up beheading him. To which he would deserve.
It felt like time stopped, the air froze, blood splattered the ground and all over Akaza's arms.
The sound of the sword dropping and Kyoujurou spitting up a gruesome amount of blood managed to stop time.
Akaza's eyes stared at his very own arm that punctured right through the man. His breathing became unsteady as he stood still, not sure what to do at that direct moment.
He heard his name being called in the frozen air yet he didnt react. He stared the man in the eyed before finally clicking it all together, panicking a bit as he ripped his arm out of him, looking at the younger individual calling his name.
Akaza leaned down and whispered softly to the man that he put up a good fight and he wished that theyd fight again before dashing off, holding his own injured arm.
He wished he could say more to the dying man but he had no time for that, as the younger man and the sun began to rise. He ignored the man, running as fast his feet would take him.
He began overthinking about whether he should had killed the hashira or kidnap him. He was beginning to feel overwhelmed.
"I'm sorry, Kyoujurou."
Though the man, Kyoujurou, could not hear, the trees listened to him, covering his aching body as the sun rose.
"I'm so sorry."
