Soft, delicate, wet tears fell down the mans face. They covered the ground ever so slightly, giving the dehydrated green grass the salty water. Something typically rain would do.
He let a deep sob out, his throat sore from screaming into his hands, his begs were not being heard from the gods and he was worried nobody had ever been listening to his pleas. He slammed his hands against the ground, slightly hurting his palms in the process.
The flame like hair fell forward every time he went to hit the ground out of frustration, beads of sweat planted against his forehead lightly. Soft gasps of air and the sound of his heart racing filled Kyoujurou's ears. His lips quivered, looking up at the sky through the tree limbs, noticing how dark it had gotten outside through his watery eyes.
The large man decided he should head back inside, as its dangerous to he out here at night. Night has become such a dreaded feature of life, demons and other creatures were free to roam at night, meaning people suspiciously died every single night, something nobody could keep up with.
Before he could even stand up from his current position on the grass, he could feel there were already eyes on him, he wanted to just ignore it and go home to Senjuro, but he refused to put his little brother in danger just because he was burning out of his own lively flame.
The pillars eyes scanned his surroundings, holding onto the blade that was held against his hip, blinking his tears away.
"Stop hiding, if you're seeking to harm someone I will be putting an end to that plan."
"Seeking to harm someone?" A raspy voice replied, a slight chuckle escaping their lips, "arent you going to do the same even if I dont come out, human?" A heavy thud could be heard from behind Kyoujurou, causing him to rise and turn around immediately with his blade ready to cut into whom ever it was behind him.
The moon grazed Kyoujurou, lighting him like an angel in a devil den, he glowed so beautifully in the light, it almost made the demon before him feel sorry that such beauty was to be wasted on a mere weak human.
"Do you not also harm others for your own life? Do demons not do the same as that? Protect ourselves and other demons from being killed by your kind? Or is there somehow a difference between us?" The demon finally came into view, a soft pink covered the mans short hair, his body barely covered by any clothing, many tattoos and scars covered him entirely. The unique colored eyes scanned over the flame pillar almost in a predator to prey manner.
"We are not the same, you were reborn for killing, I simply defend my people. What do you defend anyways? Your honor? Your pride? Demons are disgusting beings, you murder in cold blood and have no remorse for anything you do. We are nothing alike."
The demon seemed to find it funny, his eyes curling up slightly as his mouth opened, releasing a loud laugh, although nothing was funny, he laughed.
"You damn humans are so stupid!" The laughter continued. "Maybe you should become a demon, Rengoku Kyoujurou, learn what were really about."
Kyoujurou wasnt surprised the demon knew his name, a lot of individuals did. He was a pillar, a defender of the people of the world.
The soft breeze began to push Kyoujurou's hair around, his clothing clinging to his body, his heart was racing more and more by the second. The trees whistled softly, their branches moving almost in harmony. The tear stained grass began to sway lightly, it was as if the earth knew too well that this interaction was not supposed to happen like this.
The earth told Kyoujurou to escape but he couldnt move, his body chose to fight while the universe chose flight.
"I'd never become a demon like you."
"Oh, Kyoujurou," the man seemed to purr his name out, slowly walking closer, "I didnt ask if you wanted to, I said you should. I'd still kill you whether you were human or not." The purring of his name made him want to run even farther than hes ever ran.
"I dont think I should."
"How come? Hell for all you know you could replace upper moon one, you could be such a strong demon and you wouldn't even know!"
Kyoujurou pointed the blade at him as soon as he has gotten to close, his hands shaking slightly. He narrowed his usually wide eyes, watching how the demon seemed to ignore it and walk right past it.
A pale hand gripped Kyoujurou's face, forcing him to look into the unique yet freaky eyes before him, a smile place on the others face. The pillar gulped softly, staring into the bright eyes, they were glowing from how dark it had become and from the way the moon shined so delicately amongst them.
"Become a demon, Kyoujurou."
