I gazed up into the dark, sombre sky, wishing to put past my sorrows and burdens, all the negative shit I had been going through. Once I disabled all my communication apps, except only one app where the person I love was able to contact me, I stepped onto the window ledge and, after taking a deep breath, leapt up into the sky at a swift yet moderate pace, feeling the wind sift through my hair and rush past me. Continuing to fly, I peered below me to see how far up I was. It looked as if I was about twenty storeys high up in the sky. I let out a contented sigh, and advanced myself higher up. As I flew up, I came across trees that were in the emergent layer, clouds, radiosondes, and so many more fascinating objects I had never seen in person. I was thrust out of my familiar sights, in a foreign yet so beautiful a place, and I did not feel scared. Is that ironic? I do not even feel safe at home, let alone in school. As the oxygen level was getting lower as I flew upwards, I clasped my palm, wishing to be able to breathe better. Within seconds, I could breathe better and enough oxygen was supplied in my body. I gasped as my eyes took in my surroundings. I was out of Earth.
I could distinctly see the dazzling, white moon and thousands of millions of stars hug in our galaxy; the Milky Way. I could view the blaring, red-hot fireball of a sun a million times or more the size of a Blue Whale that almost blinded my eyes. My eyes quickly darted to the opposite direction and there I spotted the brown and grey, almighty Jupiter. I let out a yelp of sheer excitement and whispered under my breath, "This is awesome."
The more I looked around me, the more mesmerized I was, slowly processing my sights; planets, comets and asteroids. I whipped out my phone from my pocket amd snapped images of my surroundings, zooming into distant planets and other breathtaking phenomenons. I flew to the side of Earth furthest away from the Sun to avoid as much heat as possible and formed a seat made out of particles and sat there, embracing the mesmerizing view. I teared up, and tears of happiness slipped down my cheeks. "This is more beautiful than I had ever imagined. I've never felt so free in such a long time..." I said, feeling a lump in my throat. As I realised my temporary freedom, I felt almost as if the chains that were caught onto my limbs and bound to the earth's ground were broken, falling into many tiny countless pieces.
"I'm starting to feel tired...hmm...I could go down back to Earth and sleep among the clouds...that sounds so nice," I decided. I made the seat dissolve and flew back to Earth and more specifically, the layer troposphere, where the clouds were situated at within minutes, still fascinated by the phenomenons I spotted. Among a thick patch of clouds, I created a platform made out of the same harmless particles which was meant as a bed, and I laid there, with the clouds surrounding me, such that I could see nothing but clouds closest to me than never before. I lightly tapped on the clouds directly in front of my face, each time I did that caused the cloud I had tapped to disperse into tiny water droplets that splattered onto my finger I used for tapping and onto part of my face. Before drifting off into sleep, I murmured, "I already like it here," and with that, I fell into a slumber, a genuine smile spread across my tired yet happy face.
