Harry was nervous. His best friend, Ron, had just fainted because of a giant chess set and he was about to go face Snape all alone.

It wasn't a nice feeling. But he'd rather have himself get killed instead of his friends. They were his chosen family.

"Harry." Hermione said softly. He turned to look at her. "Harry please be careful. You're a great wizard, really."

"And you as well." He complimented. And he meant it. He was sure both him and Ron would have been dead without her.

"Me?" She asked. No one had complimented her before. "Books and cleverness? There are more important things. Like friendship and bravery."

She hesitated slightly. "And Harry, please do he careful." She pleaded. Hermione looked at him for a few seconds before pecking his lips for a short minute.

"A good luck kiss." She mumbled. "Mum always told me it helped people."

And she ran off to Ron before he could say anything. Harry blushed slightly. Her good luck kiss really did help him.

After all, while he may have defeated Voldemort and Quirell, he was certain it was Hermione's kiss that encouraged him in the first place.
