ROAD TO NEVERLAND
CHAPTER 2
ARCON
I love seeing my family happy. Even if I am in the worst situation of my life, I always hope and want to see them to be at their best, even if it costs me my life. They're everything I have, I cherished them with all of my heart; I would definitely leave myself nothing just for them, since they fixed me when I was broken into tiny fragments of glass, a barely living plant giving up every day and when I was drowning in the vast of flowing lava.
They were there; it was like a light shone on me, a hand reaching to drag me up from below, a hope to fight against my despair. I lived again and I will never waste that chance they gave me; thanks to Him.
We sauntered our way to the nearest mall from the restaurant with my family; Lock, who is in my arms right now, was getting excited to play to the Neverland inside the mall. When we arrived at the entrance of the mall, Lock immediately got down on my arms and ran towards the mall's entrance leaving us behind.
We laughed at the sight of our beloved son who's excitedly waiting for us to get inside the entrance.
When we got on the ground floor of the mall where the children's playground is at, we hurriedly bought three tickets from the counter. The place was called "Story Land" where many children's things are inside.
"Dad! Let's go to the Neverland, please!!" Said Lock. "Sure, buddy. Hon, samahan mo muna si Lock, bibili lang ako mga coins." I said to my wife and they went to the other side of the place.
I went to a yellow stall with a male staff inside. "Hi, 50 coins please. Thanks." I told the guy and gave him the money; he handed me the 50 coins and said thank you, then I went back to find my family.
I was walking steadily on the way and I saw a long train's replica on my side with the characters from the Madagascar movie inside of it; the place was loud and I could hear many children's cheerful voices with their guardians by their side that were sometimes playing with them too.
I got my presence at the end of the place and saw the sign, 'Neverland' written on the arc above the entrance. I saw Lock playing inside with other kids and my wife sitting on the side of the space watching Lock happily playing.
I asked the female staff if I could go inside, since my family was there; she nodded with a smile and opened the mini gate for me. I turned my way to my wife, she smiled at me and I sat beside her.
"Sure our son is having fun, huh?" I said while watching my child. "Yeah, he said he'll wait for you before wearing the costume he chose from the kids' wardrobe over there." My wife said and pointed to the side where there are many clothes hanging from the rack.
"Well, I'm already here." I said and looked at my wife and smiled. I hooked my arm over her shoulder and pecked her temple; she giggled and hit me slightly on the chest. "Tara na nga!" My wife said and I laughed; we strolled our feet to our son's aura.
"Hey, bud!" I patted his shoulder and he stopped playing with the big bouncing ball and turned to me—he smiled. "Dad! Tara po roon sa mga costumes, tulungan niyo po ako mag-suot." He fetched my hand and dragged me to the place with him.
I looked happily curious to my wife behind, asking why Lock is so worked up; she just shrugged, not knowing what the reason is, too.
As we stood in front of the costumes' rack, I asked Lock and rummaged through the clothes to pick out his costume. "How about this Peter Pan costume?" I showed it to Lock, but he refused exuberantly and picked a dazzling fairy costumed; I was shocked.
